I wanted to find out if any of you are aware of the Carbon Fiber Targa Tops that are available for sale. I know you can purchase them for around $350.00 - seems like a reasonable price. My concern with going that way is the history of C6 Targa Tops (the chance of them blowing off the Vette).

Have any of you heard the possibility when installing a Carbon Fiber Top to a C6 Vette. By the way I have seen these on Ebay.

There is a company that makes an overlay I believe along with the halo overlay. I think they might even be a forum vendor. While they look good, the roof and halo will no longer line up flush with the glass profile of the hatch.

I thought it was Apsis but I seem to be wrong... The one I've seen (example here) is real CF, but just a stick-on shell, and has to be epoxied or baked onto the prepped surface, so all you'll be doing is adding weight and destroying the finish of your current targa top. Same item SicMSP sells, though I thought I saw an actual CF replacement (not a stick-on) somewhere, may have been on a forum post.

We designed the Carbon overlays.
We are also making Full Carbon Replacement parts that are due out next week.
You'll have to take the top to the dealer to swap out your stock roof or we might consider doing a core charge replacement program too.
We are also making a carbon fiber innard to replace the stock roof cloth

I just about tripped over the OEM ZR1 CF tops and figured I'd come back in here and mention they want about $2800 for them. I'll be interested to see how much the aftermarket full replacement goes for.
Not that I want one myself, I just got kinda hooked on the topic.

I just need an AW painted top, preferably made of hand-blown obsidian and sporting a TRAP.
