I did the 9140 in both my C6 and STS and like it. The manual is a bit confusing, partly because the unit has so many features, but it's a good upgrade.

I choose the AVIC-Z110BT since Pioneer has a $200 rebate running through 12/31, which makes it a pretty good deal. I've been running it in my 2010 1LT coupe for about 2 weeks and I'm very happy thus far.

That looks great. What is the "Rear Screen" feature? Is it a rear camera?

Others have reported issues with the Pioneer units. Some sort of hissing when music is being played. I plan on going with the kenwood after the holidays.

Another vote for the 110. I had it installed in my 08 a couple of weeks ago and it is superior to any factory system i have had previously.

I'm thinking about swapping out the factory NAV in my '08 for the Z110BT because of the SD Card-based music and bluetooth. I just recently put a Z110BT in my '07 Sierra and it works very well. I previosly had an F series Pioneer (700BT maybe) that was really, in my opinion, not ready for the consumer market. It was slow (45 seconds until music on startup, touch screen response very poor) and the bluetooth didn't work reliably. I did all of the firmware updates without significant improvement.

Not the Z110. It is lightning fast and the bluetooth hasn't failed me yet.

I haven't experienced the Kenwood, but for those that have had the unfortunate experience of suffering through the use an f-series Pioneer, let it be known that the Z110 appears to be what the F-series SHOULD have been.

I had the exact same Pioneer unit installed in my Ram truck this summer and have had great performance and no problems with it. I am thinking about getting one for my vette, but have not yet since I like the like the HUD features with the factory unit. I bought a motorola hands free bluetooth speaker that clips to the sunvisor for calling. It works fairly well with my iphone.

On the Kenwood I was reading the features and it says...

2 x External Switches For Relay Control Outputs for garage doors, lighting, trunk, etc.

I wonder if you could use those to activate a nitrous kit and say a bottle heater...? Anyone tried/thought of this?

deff will do that stuff

with that said i mainly install kenwoods IMO its a way better product, but i will say the new z110 is way better then the f700

its kind of a toss up, the pioneer has menus for setup that are a bit easier to get through, but the kenwood has garmin based nav which hands down takes the cake for me

I'm planning on going with Kenwood since they are Garmin-based.

I believe that function controls the screens for my rear-seat passengers. Thus it's not connected to anything.

The unit does support a backup camera, but it engages automatically when the reverse gear is selected.

the pioneer has parrot technology which allows you to control your phone and ipod with voice commands. I had the sync in my old car and just saying "play XXX" was pretty nice with my ipod. I am giving serious thought to putting a pioneer in my 06 coupe since I did not get factory nav in it.

Went with the Pioneer AVH 4100. Absolutely fantastic unit. I opted not to add rear camera or upgrade with GPS....worthless to me. My unit has XM and High Def AM/FM radio and hands free phone. The only negative so far is the screen is hard to view in the sun. Fortunately the screen does tilt to help alleviate that problem. As far as fit, it looks like it was put there by the factory. I have Ipod line out hidden in the center arm rest and a switch that tricks the unit into thinking I am parked (so I can adjust some screen features on the roll).

As someone stated a few post above, the previous gen of Pioneer had issues. This gen is supposedly ready for prime time.

i have installed tons of the older pioneers and tons of the kenwoods.

the f500 and 700 pioneer series were very slow but the voice commands on them worked great. To get voice on the kenwood you have to go to one of the higher end models. The kenwoods while they have menus for setup that are trickier to work with have a much better gps system in my opinion.

With all that set the z110bt by pioneer is way better then the older pioneers and a kick *** unit. With that said if you arent looking for something with every bell and whistle possiable the kenwood dnx5140 is hard to beat for the price.

also keep in mind bluetooth and voice commands for any brand of unit arent gonna work that great in a vette that has a remotely loud exhaust
