HUD Navigation? Hunh?????
Please excuse my ignorance.
I know what HUD is, and I know what Navigation is, but I have seen post on here about the Navigation "integrating with the HUD".
Does that mean you can see the navigation through the heads up display? Or what does the integration of the NAV and HUD mean?
Thanks

When you have factory Nav you can have your directions thru the HUD.

It's actually really nice. It's the only reason I haven't replaced it with a better head unit. It shows an arrow and the street name to turn on and other information like that, while still showing the mph, etc...

I like the countdown bar with distance to the turn so you don't have to guess which street it is when you are in an area with closely spaced streets. Being displayed in front of you you can concentrate on driving and not be looking inside the car to figure out where the turn is.

Correct. The HUD also displays the radio station and name when you change radio stations. The Nav stuff displays when you are close to your next event so it doesn't clutter the Nav when you are driving and have a long distance to the next Nav event. I like the way it colors in the turn bar as you get closer to the turn and chime when you need to turn.

The HUD feature is the one good thing about the OEM NAV. I would have considered the system if they had a traffic feature which even google maps on cell phones has.

It will even display the name of the street on your windshield with a little arrow pointing left or right, with the "countdown" bar. It's incredibly cool, you never have to take your eyes off the road, probably my favorite feature of the Corvette.
Edit: lol, someone already said that, my bad.

I actually prefer the Nav info as its displayed on the HUD over what's on the LCD screen – it’s more intuitive, not so cluttered and not prone to being wahsed out by sunlight or stray reflections like the LCD screen is.

It's a nice feature. Takes your mind off the fact the music coming out of the Bose/Nav system sucks...
Okay... Just making a joke. The usual and frequent "is the Bose system good?" posts have cropped up for this week, so thought I would tie things together!
Seriously, it is a very nice feature.
Happy New Year!

Steve,
The verticle buttons that are just to the left of the dashboard display and behind the directional **** are where you control the display. Push the MODE button and you'll see two "track" modes and one "street" mode. The button below is the PAGE button. This button will provide different displays of each of the "street" and "track" modes.
"See, wasn't that easy?"
