Default Ported Intake / Throttle Body and Tuning Special

From now through Feb. 28th we are offering a great porting and tuning special in honor of the arrival of Formato baby #2. And well, we are also in the Valentines day time frame and tax returns. Great time to get yourself a little something while your stock is up for taking care of your sweetheart for Valentines Day.

We are now making our ported intake manifolds and throttle bodies available together for $325.00 shipped for a Stage 1 and $400.00 shipped for the Stage 2. This is a savings of $75.00 off regular pricing. In addition, if you would like a your vehicle email tuned and optimized for this greater air flowing ability (with HP Tuners), we will do this for just $200.00. This is a another savings of $75.00 off regular pricing. Even if you don't have HP Tuners, you can send us your PCM and we will do it that way. With this combo of tuning and fully ported manifold/tb you could see up to 30 rwhp and 35 rwtq gains.

Stage 1 intake only $275.00 shipped
Stage 2 intake only $350.00 shipped
LS2 and up Throttle Bodies $100.00 shipped

FAST manifold porting reduced to $300.00 for this time period as well

Normally our stage 1 intakes are $300.00, Stage 2's $375.00, TB's $150 and mail order tuning $275.00. Done together for now for only $525.00 stage 1 or $600.00 for stage 2, you will save $150.00 when tuning and porting combined. That's enough to still get the misses a little something extra nice while still packing in another 30 or so naturally aspirated horses under your hood. Not bad.

Stage 1 information:

The average gain for the LS2 intake manifold over stock is 11 rwhp/13rwtq. The LS3/L76 average gain over stock is 10 rwhp/12rwtq. The LS7 average gain over stock is 17rwhp/19rwtq.

We have done over 350+ LS2 intake manifolds, 100+ LS7 , and 70+ LS3 & L76s and over 350 TB's.

When porting the TB you will see greatly improved throttle response and bottom end/mid range Tq feel and a significant seat of the pants gain. Our manifolds are very thoroughly ported not only in the runners (like some do) but also much of the plenum and TB flange are enlarged in order to support more airflow in the upper RPM. The larger the air reservoir the less likely to deplete more volume in the upper RPMs. Hence the OEM difference of the '00 LS1 intake vs the '01 LS6 intake.

Stage 2 information:

Stage 2 porting is taking the manifold to its limit - as much of the plenum is removed while still staying safe from vacuum leaks. We rework all the runners for an even deeper cut and we use a much more aggressive sanding method, even deeper than the 8 inches we typically port in the stg 1 manifolds. For stage two manifolds we remove the inner posts and completely flatten the plenum floor all the way to the back on the inside of the manifold as well as the outside so as to make a air gap between the valley and manifold base. We epoxy small aluminum plates, screw them in, and then epoxy the inside as well, to prevent any air leaks. This stage 2 manifold porting is a cheaper alternative to a FAST manifold, but it is also designed for someone that is trying to FULLY optimize their power on a budget. We are targeting those that want the MOST from the stock manifold at a decent price.

On our own GTO we tested the stage 2 manifold vs our stage one and we picked up an additional 6rwhp and 7 rwtq on an A-B test on the dyno same day, same weather, same engine conditions. This is in addition to the 11/13 from the stage one manifold We also had an independent test done by a shop in NY and they gained over 15+rwhp and 18+rwtq.
We do not offer stg2 for the FASTs. We port all of them as aggressively as possible, with over 3.5 hours to port per manifold.

Ls2 average gains over stage 1 porting is 6 rwhp/7 rwtq
LS3/76 average gains over stage 1 porting is 4 rwhp/4 rwtq
LS7 average gains over stage 1 porting is 4 rwhp/4 rwtq

Performance will vary depending on mods and tuning.

If you want us to send you directly a ported intake and throttle body, a core charge of $550.00 applies ($275.00 each), but it is refunded as soon as we receive your undamaged originals back. To send us your intake and throttle body for porting the turn around time is typically 2-3 business days. All intake manifold gaskets are typically reusable.

Here is a post with some helpful tuning tips for those doing their own, or having someone else do the tune.

Note: we do not port LS1 or LS6 manifolds as there are no measurable gains associated with these manifolds.

Dyno Graphs

This is an 05 GTO M6 "on the dyno" A (stage 1 ported manifold) vs B (stage 2 ported manifold).

After getting the base line run in, the stage 1 was removed and the stage 2 was installed and tested.

2010 M6 Camaro full intake and exhaust, run 2 had a base tune in it, run 3 was the intake swap and the last run was the fully optimized tune with a little bit more spark advance. This is a very recent A-B test of a LS3 stock intake to a stage 2, performed on a dyno jet in S Florida.

Results will vary and each car is different, with this one performing on the higher end of the scale, but the intake was a large factor in achieving these results.

Here is a 07 A6 Vette - had a fully optimized Formato tune, re baseline the car and installed the stage 2 intake. Again, the increase in power is not simply a peak power increase but is significant through out the entire RPM range. Same day, same conditions, A vs B test.

This Car is an 07 Z06 with the following mods:
Callaway CAI, Fasterproms Ported TB and stg 1 manifold, STOCK EXH manifolds, B&B Fusion catback, Fasterproms custom tune.
Run 1 was a baseline pull with all aforementioned mods, fully optimized.
Run 6 was Stg 2 manifold and a tuning tweak, more fuel.

We were pleased to get this kind of power in weather in 90F + air temps.

Bottom line: Stage 2 over Stage 1 picked up 6 rwhp and 9 rwtq through out the rev range, and 10 and 10 in some areas.

What kind of increased RWHP are you seeing on a consistent basis with your ported FAST intakes? Just weighing the cost benefit of going with either a ported FAST or the stage 2 OEM intake you have outlined above.

Depending on the mods and the tune, porting the FAST manifold is good for at least a gain of 10 rwhp, 10 rwtq over a non ported FAST.

What is your opinon of the FAST manifold for the LS3? Any gains over a stage 2 OEM manifold? Has porting been showing good gains on the FAST 102? I thought I remembered hearing that they weren't any better in stock form than a ported LS3.

I would be interested in having you port a FAST 102 for me if the gains are worth it over the OEM stage 2. If not, I'd have you do my stock LS3 manifold. This is on a cam/bolt-on LS3, BTW.

Thanks,
Andy

Andy, we don't have any 102 comparison #s vs the LS3, but have ported a few 102's. They performed excellent over a competitors ported LS7 manifold, as the ported 102 picked up an additional 17/20 hp/tq.

The 102 would be the better performer hands if budget is not a concern, where as the ported OEM is much better cost wise.

Thank you
Dan

We have had several members ask on here and other boards about extending the special, and we decided to extend it for everyone through March 14th.

Thank you for all the orders!
