Default Cleaning stock polished aluminum wheels?

Hi,

I have the stock polished aluminum wheels on my '09 coupe. What is the best way to clean them and best products to use?

Thanks,
Jeffrey

You will get better responses if you address this down in the detail car care section.

I use a wheel cleaner and a brush. You might want one of those brushes that can get behind inside the wheel behind the tire. I use White Bleche on the rubber and on the wheel any of those wheel cleaners you spray on and brush & hose off.
After that you might want to seal them with something like Rejex or whatever your personal preference is.

I'm not sure what LSwon is thinking but they are painted with clearcoat and should be treated like the rest of your paint. Never use a brush or hard chemicals. Just wax them like the rest of your car.

THIS is the correct response. Just like dealing with any clearcoat surface on the vehicle.

Wash them just like your car, and then wax if needed, just like the rest of your car. Do not use any chemicals that you wouldn't use on the entire cars finish. Those wheels are polished aluminum, then clear coated. They are one of the easiest wheels to maintain.

This worked for me on my 2008 polished Gumbys. Hand wash them with mild soap and water [I used shampoo], dry them with a microfiber cloth, then apply Meguiars carnuba wax, then polish them with another microfiber cloth. After they are waxed the brake dust will come off much easier with a wet cloth. I Plan on using the same technique on my future chrome GS wheels.

I use nothing but water or the car cleaner I wash my car with

The same soap and water you use to wash the car.
