What are the best tires for your vette??
So I've heard the best tires are the G-force KDW's... but also that they are loud..
I have the KDW's and do think they are loud.... Are they the best tires???

Go for Firestone Wide Oval's run flats at www.tirerack.com
A good tire for a great price. They are made just for the C6 vette.
Check it out and read the reviews.

After I replaced the original Goodyear tires (runflat), I bought the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP (ZP = Zero Pressure, runflats). They had just come out for the Corvettes at the time (a year and a half ago).
They are amazing! Also, they are much more quiet than the original Goodyear.
See the related leaflet at http://www.michelinman.com/media/en-...ral-poster.pdf

I think if you want best, then you have to think Michelin. They are made in Runflat and Non.....but they are probably the top performance tire for the car...this is why they are on the ZR1 in spite of their high price.

"Best" can mean many different things.
IF you want to stay with runflats (like I do), the Forum consensus would probably be:
Best performance: Michelin PS2 ZP
Best all season: Michelin PS2 ZP A/S
Best summer touring tire: Firestone Firehawk runflat
Do a Search for each and you will have many hours of reading to do...

The Michelins were a nice upgrade from my supercars. They are pricey though.

Do a search by brand name - -Goodyear, Firestone, Khumo, Michelin, etc . . enough reading material to last you a week . . .
There is no "best" or best price - - -but check forum vendors first.

This question comes up many times since 05. Most folks like the PS2s. I disliked them ALOT. Horrible wear, horrible in wet. Maybe I had a bad set, but I had similar experience with Michelin on another car and will not give Michelin another try. I have had good luck with the KDW2s. My car is loud enuf from a larger cam and headers that whatever noise the tires make I am oblivious to.

It is also fair to compare to other tires within one class. Obviously there will be better wet weather tires out there but probably give up some grip in the dry. I know PS2s are not known to like cold temps.

The PS2s were pretty mediocre on my Porsche so I replaced them with RE-11s, and they are amazing. Dunno if they make them in the staggered fitment for the vettes but if you can get them I'd even undersize wheels to fit some RE-11s, they're that good.

[QUOTE=phileaglesfan;1573579424]What kind of mileage did you get and what kind of driving? This is the first I heard anything negative about them. I heard they are 100% better in the wet than the OEM goodyears.
I agree that most folks state positive experience with the PS2s. From memory the tires were well worn after 5K. I do street driving only with mild launches before I accelerate. Some breakaways in 2nd gear occasionally. Summer only tires do like warm temperatures and warmed up tires. My PS2s were borderline dangerous in wet weather (after 3K miles on them) and were FAR worse on an old Honda CRX that I had.
The combo of the KDW2s and Koni FSDs make a street car FUN to drive and cure the rear wheel hop. The KDWs are not a good choice if you are looking for the tires to hook up at launch in first gear but that is probably true to varying degrees of all the street tires.
I think there are probably other tire choices to get better long term wear but the KDW2s appear to be a good balance of performance/wear to go with my car which has about 480 RWHP and 410 gears.

I think so...I recently went with Michelin PS2 ZP A/S and love them. I really wanted something confortable and quiet. Discount tire is usally pretty reasonable on their price on these. If not they are willing to work with you.
