The BOSE bass speakers in the doors each have their own amp mounted to the front of the speaker itself.

The amp in the footwell powers everything else.

The speakers in my door on 2005 don't have the "Bose" name on front speakers. Are they still made by BOSE or who?
I know the fuses are in the passenger footwell.

If it doesn't have the BOSE logo on the speaker grilles then it's the base model system. Many prefer the sound of this stereo.

The experts in the Audio/Electronics Forum could answer this better, but I think the non-BOSE components are probably made by some off-shore, generic OEM vendor.

Thanks for that info as I could never find an answer to that.
Most of all the Corvettes I have seen private owned or for sale all have BOSE on speakers. Many prefer the sound of the base stereo?
