Silly turn signal question
Last night I installed the white LED DRL's in my Z. The install went without a hitch but the hyperflash is really fast. When I was checking everything out I noticed that my front amber side markers were not flashing. I don't remember if they were flashing before the LED DRL install, but my tired old brain thinks they were.
Anyone with the stock amber DRL's, does your side marker lamps flash when you use your turn signal?
thanks

Others have reported this problem here when installing different tailights. Some have said that they needed to install an in line resistor of some kind so that the same reading is given to the car as before.....not much help, sorry......have you tried a search here on this subject, as I know that there have been previous postings on this issue?...good luck getting it fixed though.

My question now is did I lose the side marker flashing or did they never flash when using the turn signals. I didn't change out the bulbs in the side markers.

Thanks, I knew my CF buddies wouldn't let me down. Don't know why I got it into my head that the side markers blinked with the turn signals before I installed the LED DRL's.. I've been divorced for 25 years and I guess the B**** is still messing with my mind.

Actually, I remember when the side markers did flash with the turn signals on all GM cars and I sort of miss it ... makes it much easier to figure out what somebody is doing when you can only see the side of his car ... (actually, I liked the C4's cornering lamps that lit whichever side was blinking .... in dark parking lots it was useful).

Side markers do not flash on the C5 or C6. There is a mod you can do, basically grounding the marker bulb throught the power of the blinker. This makes the side marker blink alternating with the blinker. Kinda cool, I have my rear markers blinking but this is not compatible with LED blinkers as they are diodes so when I put in my switchbacks I had to disable the front marker blinking mod.
The LED's are causing the hyperflashing (you know this). You need a load equalizer. I think the ones I have are 6 Omh 50 Watt versions from autolumination. They are wired in parallel with the LED. They get hot so I have mine hanging in the space in front of the wheel well.
