Default Meguiars leather cleaner conditioner not working

I can't find Zaino products in my area and the Meguiars cleaner I bought conditions nicely but won't get all the dirt.
Any household cleaner I can safely use to clean, and condition after with the Meguiars?
I was thinking of striping and cleaning with dish soap and than applying the conditioner. Safe?

I wouldn't use dish-washing soap or household cleaners. Maybe Kiwi Saddle Soap (Ace Hardware) made specifically for leather and a very soft-bristle brush.

Order the Zaino on the website. The cleaner and conditioner is the best I have used by far, especially the conditioner.

not sure what year you have or what condition the leather is in, but I suggest you do a little search on C6 General. it was determined that our leather seating areas are coated from the factory (as are, supposedly many cars, not just ours) with a plastic type coating. we can lexol, meguiar and zaino away, but it won't get thru unless this coating has been damaged. a careful gentle scrubbing with a damp cotton terry usually works. a little leather cleaner won't hurt.

There are several dedicated leather cleaners, like Leatherique Pristine Clean, which clean effectively. Unfortunately most store bought products are All-In-One type products and may not specialize in cleaning or protecting but designed to do all ok.

since our leather is plastic coated, and water just sits on it and won't soak in, does it really matter?

You may want to post your question in the CF Car-Car Forum.

coated leather still needs to be cleaned from time to time. Think of center console and other areas that are coated or plastic. Items get dusty, dirty, greasy. and it can get ground in same with any type of leather.

Now as for protection you can certainly use vinyl protectants and likely more about final look and some UV protection. 303 is extremely popular and can be used all over a Vettes interior. Another product designed for light cleaning and protecting of coated (aka finished) leather specifically is Einszett Leathercare and one I personally use on Vette.

At 10,000 miles one of my seat covers has a hole in it. I bought new real leather and suede covers that should arrive Wednesday.

Default Lexol

Dont know if you can find it in your area but Lexol products( they make a cleaner and a conditioner) have been around over 40 years. They are buy far the best leather products I have ever used.

Zaino cleaner may--or may not--work but the conditioner will do nothing because the leather on your seat is coated with vinyl. Don't waste your money, and don't expect the Zaino brothers to tell you this.
