Default New battery in a 2008?

First off how long is a warranty on the stock delco batteries? Secondly where can I buy a replacement battery? I bought one at Walmart and it was too big to fit in the battery tray even though it said it was the correct size.

GM replaced mine about 4 months ago, I think they will replace within the original warr.36 months. I also just bought a battery for my wifes 07 at auto zone for about $100, with an 8 yr. warr.

Bosch makes a exact (in size) as your OEM battery. I got mine at Pep Boys.

That Bosch is actually an Exide. Warranty is a function of marketing not product quality or reliability, so a long pro-rata warranty gives you the allusion that it is a better battery. If you live in a high heat are, buy the lowest CCA battery you can get and it will last the longest. Heat kills batteries, so a low CCA battery has more space for electrolyte to keep itself cool than a high CCA battery. You don't need -20 cranking in Miami or Phoenix, etc.

While on a overnight cruise, one of our club's members had his battery go south. He purchased a new one at Walmart in Ozark, AR on a Sunday and it dropped right in his 2007 C6 coupe, perfect. The store was one of the old ones that dosen't have an auto dept so they lent us the tools to R&R the battery in their parking lot. It also had the vent tube(not needed on the coupe) so it could also be used in the Z06 & ZR1(and the dry sump GS).

My cars a ZO-6 with a Delco 90-6YR battery. Recently replaced it with an Autozone Duralast Gold 90-DLG. 100% same Johnson Control case as the original Delco. If you sat them next to each other with no labeling, no way you could tell any differences. Needless to say, it was a perfect fit.

Just a reminder, there are some slight dimensional differences between the different years of C6 battery.

just a reminder, based on the supplier's/retailer's original specifications for a battery, the same "casing" can have different internals (guts).

2005--86 series
2006--90 series
2007--90 series
2008--85 series
2009--85 series
2010--85 series

85 series----9 1/16" L X 6 13/16" W X 8" H

86 series----9 1/16" L X 6 13/16" W X 8" H

90 series----9 11/16 L X 6 7/8" W X 6 7/8" H

Every year uses the same size battery except for the 2006 & 2007, which is different. Being that the 85 & 86 series batteries are smaller length and width, then 90 series, the 2006 & 2007 can use the either of them instead of the 90 series as a replacement.

I have not measured the battery trays, so I don't know if they changed with the 2006 & 2007.

Hope this helps.
