Glass top arrived today
My glass top arrived today safe and sound from Gene at GM Parts House. I’m glad that I took advantage of his August special - $1099 (hardware and shipping included). The top was shipped fast and packed well. All that I had to do was un-pack it and put it on. Thank you Gene – I will be back!!
Now the big question….
I love the top, but should I get the halo painted?? I will probably use the painted (Machine Silver) top during the summer and switch to glass in the winter – not sure what to do with the halo - I'm leaning towards leaving it alone, just not sure???

i have a machine silver with the same top that you just got..i wanted to paint the halo black....but after some thought and looking at pictures, i am not painting it....i like how the silver breaks up the the top of the car. my .02

I have the machine silver and when I purchased the car it only had the glass top, so I blacked out the halo. I eventually purchased a black top to match the halo for the summers.
I think that with a black roof panel and halo, the lines flow better and isn't broken up by a silver vertical line (halo).

Being that I came over from many years of Fbody ownership, the look is kind of played out for me. And if you're going to run the silver top in the summer, it'd look stupid unless you painted it black as well.
I just think of this when I see C6's painted this way, but to each his own...

Can you do me a favor? Would you weigh the glass top and compare it with the weight of your painted top? I have injuries to both of my wrists. The main reason I would purchase the glass top is that I understand it is lighter than the painted top. But, by how much? Thanks to anyone who can respond with reasonably accurate weights.
