Center Console Very Hot
Has anyone notice how hot the center console gets? I put my iphone in the console and took a three hour drive and when I got my iphone out it was very hot. Does anyone know why this happens.

it's a common problem that can be corrected.

I know a guy that let his GF drive his Z0-6 one day. A couple of days later he opened the center console and discovered the melted remains of a Hershey chocolate bar with nuts. 
there are several things that you can do to make the problem better. What I did was install the insulated tunnel plate from Elite Engineering When I put my long tube headers on. Then I laid a piece of Frost King insulation under the center console, no more heat.

I installed MadVette's insulation kit and one of the benefits is a cooler console. I still wouldn't leave a candy bar in the console, but at least now I can stow my cell phone and iPod and not worry about frying them.

I installed 3 sets of Crazy Cowboy's insulation kits. I noticed a big drop of center console heat. I wouldn't put a candy bar in there either but even a metal plate is not hot to the touch.
