Default Trouble with invisicord pins into mirror plug

I have used these invisicords on my past Vettes and they are great for connecting the radar dectector to the mirror plug. I am having difficulty getting the pins to push into the mirror plug on my 2010 GS. Any ideas on how I might fit them in without breaking the plug connections? Thanks.

been there done that on my GS. broke one of the pins in the cord and had to solder a nail onto it. The pin was just not strong enough to push into the connector. Works great now.

Same trouble here. Try all points, bottom, sides and top.

I have a 2007 Coupe and had the same problem. I couldn't get the plug out or the cord in. I turned that mirror so many times that it came off in my hand (must have turned it just right). I tried to get it back on but just couldn't get the hang of it. Dealer was able to get the mirror back on. I mailed the cord back.

Some members found it very easy, others have had some problems.

There is a post right now about a member who had the same thing that happened to me, happen to him.

Good Luck and hope you get it resolved. If it works, it's a great way to wire it.

What I have found to work really well. I use the left side and while pusshing the pin in push the wire that ie already attached to the right it then slides right in.

Hope this helps.

Steve, I couldn't wipe your avatar off my 24" monitor . I need an exterminator, fast, before it multiplies.

I just put mine in and followed the instructions on the Invisicord site from one of our Forum members. I tried the pliers and that didn't work. But he suggested putting the red cord wire (yellow tip) on the bottom of the pink wire on the mirror and the green wire (black tip) at the top of the black mirror wire. This worked out really well and everything is working fine now. I pulled the plug out of the back of the mirror to work in it.

If the above is too confusing, you can read about it and see pictures on the Invisicord website.

Has anyone tryied to remove the rectangular connectors from the plug and solder the wires to it, then push the connectors back in? I'm trying to do this but cannot get the connectors out. Usually you can stick a small pick in from the front and that would release the connectors.

Be sure to put a small tie wrap on cord above plug to keep it in place if you move detector between cars.
