C6 best year

The column lock is a good example: GM dropped the thing on autos halfway through the C5's run, and got rid of it altogether by the second model year of the C6. The '05 C6 M6 is the only one with a column lock.

Happy New year 2017
It was interesting reading this posts in this thread 7 years after the last post. I currently own a C4 and thinking of buying a C6. Coincidentally, it is a 2007 coupe with 78k on the clock. It sounds like it is fully loaded and in pristine condition. So I thought I should see if there are any known issues with the model year 2007. For what I read it appears that this group prefers the 2008 due to the improvements.
If anyone happens to read this and has information or an opinion, I would like to hear it. The info below shows the car in question:
2007 Chevy Corvette
$20,000
Las Vegas, NV (89138)
Selling my 2007 Corvette (aka midlife crisis). 78k miles. Automatic with paddle shifters. I am the second owner of this car purchased almost 4 years ago. This car has been greatly maintained and shows it. All services have been performed at Findlay Chevy by their Corvette team lead by "Slim". Recent health check on car, replaced balancer, belts, seals and alignment. All other checks received "green" = passing. This will save you $270 on a independent inspection if your serious on purchasing a car like this. Hand washed the entire time I have owned it. A/C ice cold. Front tires replaced last year. Heads up windshield display as well. Weather Tech matts in the front. Selling to seek a newer model. Owner will accompany any / all test drives. Cash purchases only, no trades or payments. Non-refundable $250 cash deposit to hold 48 hours. All scheduled maintenance. All records. Always garaged. Excellent condition. Factory GPS system. Fully loaded with all the goodies. Looks & drives great. Mostly highway miles. Must see. Never seen snow. No accidents. Non-smoker. Satellite radio. Title in hand. Very clean interior. Well maintained.

I just traded in my 97 C5 and picked up a 2007 C6 the next day my battery was dead the dealer said that i need to park the car in reverse on the manual trans. That is why the battery was dead.
Any thoughts on this"

I was trying to make this decision a little over a year ago. After going through a couple of different coffee table books on the history of the Corvette, I settled upon a 2008 C6, for most of the reasons others have already given. I was fortunate to find one (black, MM6/MN6, J55, NPP, ZR1 wheels/side skirt/rear spoiler, and QX3 wheels) with just over 9K miles and the body and LT3 interior were like new. It's been a winner for us, and I think my wife likes it more than I do.
Have fun!

I've had my 2006 convertible since new. I modified it after the warranty ran out. If money is no object, get a 2013 427. I'd still have mine if my knees didn't give out. The 427 is manual only so I had to let it go.

C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
The last year that the C6 was made would have all of the kinks worked out of it and some would say that it would be the best a C6 can be.

It would not be difficult to agree with that if it weren't for the fact that automakers are updating/upgrading their line every year, which leads to more potential for kinks and quirks. While I can believe it is often best not to buy the first, or even second, year of a significant model change, I don't also believe the best year is the last year.
Just my opinion, though. I am sure a review of Consumer Reports "problems reported per model, per year" would yield interesting info.
