Default Is there such thing as aftermarket A6 shifter paddles?

I would like to change the paddles on my wifes A6 while I am changing out the steering wheel. Would really like paddles like my F430's. Does anything like this even exist?

OK i get it you want cosmetic paddles and not ones that change the function to the way everyone else in the world does it.

Those are slick looking paddles i might add post some pics when you get it all done.

It's my wifes car, she thinks the paddles in the Corvette are...... how can I put this nicely.

Oh, and I would post pics but I don't think anybody makes them for Corvette.

I've been looking for the same style myself for the past year with no luck. Whoever comes up with a conversion like this would make a pretty penny for sure.

Cute?

I'm fine with the stock paddle function, but would like bigger paddles so I can find them if I need to move my hands around the wheel.

This would be a perfect project for Apsis.
You might forward this thread to Jersey to see if he's interested in producing something like this.

We looked into it a couple of years ago. The stock paddle is a complicated part to make out of carbon. It could be injection molded like the original but either the carbon or the injection mold is going to make the paddle very expensive. I believe the cost projection was around $750 for the a set of just paddles. That is too much so I scrapped the project.
My paddle was not as large as the Ferrari paddles, they basically removed the thumb part you press and extended the paddle a little in the back.

Too bad, anything would be an improvement over the current style.

You'd think someone could make a simple extension that would glue/screw/clamp onto the existing paddles.

One of my backburner projects is hand making some extensions out of some spare magnesium. If I ever get around to it I'll post up the pics.

I'll bet Ferrari made this same cost analysis and then said "That's fine, let's go with the $750 paddles."

what about aluminum, have them cut out with a cnc or waterjet and then anodize them black

I actually thought about trying this project out myself. There is a guy selling the paddle conversions that he made himself in the FS section. I also have a close friend that owns his own CNC company. Maybe I can think of something to combine the two things and come up with something great at a reasonable cost.
