Fob not detected

If the car battery is low enough you can't open the door so scratch that one. The only time it happens to me is the fob battery was dead or I simply didn't have it with me.

Fob battery fixed mine. Also, I never got the DIC message that says "fob battery low"...it is a legitimate message but cannot be depended on. My low fob battery started showing up first by not allowing the trunk to open when I pushed the button by the license plate.
As for a low car battery, a marginal one might have enough voltage to allow for door opening, but then when the added load of all the interior lights is put on it, may not allow the system to start the car.

My car always says FOB NOT DETECTED whenever my cell phone is in
the same pocket as the FOB. Put the cell in the other pocket and message is gone.

The cell phone charger from work caused me problems until I removed it from my car.
When the car battery got weak, I got the message as well. I replaced the fob batteries at the same time anyway.

Condition
Some customers may comment about a temporary no start condition with a "No Remote Detected" or "No Fobs Detected" or No Fob Detected" message on the DIC.
Electrical Interference Concern
Electrical Interference Concern
Certain brands of cell phone chargers may produce electromagnetic interference (EMI) or radio frequency interference (RFI) that can disrupt the electrical systems within the vehicle. This interference may cause a no start condition with a "No Remote Detected" message on the DIC. The interference created by the use of these chargers may be intermittent and random. The concern may be present with or without the phone connected to the charger.
Disconnect the cell phone charger from the vehicle and evaluate the customer concern. If the concern is corrected, advise the customer that OEM cell phone chargers, provided by the cell phone manufacturer, typically have additional filtering to eliminate this type of interference. Avoid the use of low quality charging devices.
Notice: This type of interference may be encountered with charging devices for cell phones, MP3 players, GPS units, DVD Players, etc. The device does not need to be plugged into the charger to create this interference, only the charger need be plugged into the 12 volt power point of the vehicle. Moving the key fob away from the charger as far as possible may correct the condition.
Important: Placing the transmitter in the transmitter pocket (found in the console storage area or I/P storage compartment on Corvette/XLR) will allow the vehicle to start even under interference conditions.
GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.

Having changed the batteries twice in both Fobs in a year, I finally got fed up and was given two new Fobs by my local dealer. It was clear that the service manager was well aware of the problem and gave me no problems in the swap.
This was on an '09. Changed batteries at 8 months, then again at 17 months, and now they were failing only 3 months later. What was interesting though was that the second Fob was failing after only a month of use in each case. So the second FOB was deteriorating even when not used.
This exchanged was just a week ago, and thus far both new FOBS are working perfectly. I have experimented having them in the same pocked with my phone and no problem. Door opens even with it in my left pocket. Starts every time butwe will see as time will tell.

My car will never unlock the doors while the car is in my garage. Works fine everywhere else so I am assuming it is local interference and I just hit the unlock button and I'm in.

When I've had the FOB not Found message, its been related to interference. My daily driver also is keyless and I've learned not to carry both FOBs because they seem to interfere with each other.

Had a scary FOB issue the other day. Was listening to the stereo on accessory mode. It quit after some time. I shut the car doors, no problem, also no auto lock. The 8 year old got into the vette and started it right up, with out the FOB.

My OE fob battery ('06) began to fail just recently.
The driver's door would not open unless the fob was right next to it and once I was in, I got a very brief 'no fob detected' message in the DIC.
Car started, nonetheless, and I immediately drove to the store and bought new batteries.
The car's main battery, again OE, is beginning to tire as well, but I'm going to keep it until fails, or I can't afford the risk of failure, and see how the car reacts.
After reading so many threads on the topic, I'm curious to experience some of the issues firsthand. Hopefully in the confines of my garage.
