Is there a proper signal (and I don't mean the bird) to let a guy know you're not into street racing?
Driving back from Target with the wife and an WRX comes along side me, gives me the two horn honks and a rev. When I didn't bite, he gunned it and cut in front of me. My wife wanted to know why I didn't dust him. No offense to others here, but I don't street race. Twenty years ago, maybe, but seems foolish to me now.
So, is there a preferred "no thanks" response?
Regards,
Larry

"TAKE A FRIKKIN HIKE YOU LITTLE FOREIGN CAR DRIVING,FART CAN NOISE MAKIN P***"
or you could just ignore the guy.

Next time you say, "Yeah, we'll go at the light." Rev a bit to make it look convincing. Light turns green, casually accellerate to the speed limit and make that guy look like an idiot taking off burning rubber and all

At the light; I just look around, give 'em a friendly smile and gently shake my head "No".

I DISAGREE....don't do anything to entice the other guy. If you did what you said and the other guy sped off and killed someone IMO you'd be partially responsible. If someone wants to street race consider it a compliment and ignore the guy. BTW the Corvette overconfidence is running rampant as usual. Never underestimate the other guy. There are all kinds of cars you'd least expect that might just blow your doors off. It's not worth finding out in a street race....just saying'.

I did ignore the guy, just wondering if there was an accepted no thanks response. You'd think, here in Southern California I'd get these guys all the time, but I don't remember the last time it happened.
