Default Cycling Thru the Options

It is good to cycle thru C6 options and features once in a while even thought we never or rarely use some of them. This will help to get us familiar with these options, renew lubrication, and know if they work when they are needed.

Power train.
- On the automatic transmission, please select S mode and cycle thru paddle shifters once in a while.

Keys, locks.
- On 2008 and newer MY, make sure you can take the key out of the key fob. Both fobs.
- Cycle thru buttons on the fob. Lock, unlock, hatch release, trunk release and panic button (not disturbing neighbors)
- The most important item, emergency door release handles, on driver and passenger side.
- Use the key to open the hatch. Both keys.
- Open driver side door using pull cable in the hatch area.
- Open fuel door using pull cable in the hatch area.
- Glove compartment and center console locks.
- Open hatch/trunk using the button on the driver side foot well, and the button next to rear license plate.

Seats.
- Try both driver and passenger seats’ controls. Power or manual. This includes lumbar and bolster controls.
- Seat back rest tilt lock levers, located on the back of the headrest.
- Tilt steering, power telescoping if applicable.
- Heated seats.

Electrical.
- Cycle thru all functions of windshield wiper/washer. Many folks never use their wipers. Do it when washing the car.
- Try headlights ring switch. All positions, including DRL off.
- Try foglights ring switch.
- Hazard flashers button.
- DIC and HUD buttons.
- Traction control switch. Set traction on/off. Set competitive driving mode on/off. Set Active Handling and Traction Control on/off.
- F55 selector. All modes.
- Radio buttons.
- HVAC controls.
- Outside power mirrors’ adjustments.
- Inside rearview mirror auto dimming and compass on/off.
- Map lights.
- Dimmer switch/Interior light switch.
- If you have NPP and pulled the fuse, put it back for 1 day. M2W cycle.
- Convertible top if you never use it. Try to do it one time manually as per owner’s manual.

Please add to the list if I am missing something.

My first thought was "here's a guy with time on his hands", but more I thought about it, you're right. I don't think I've ever used the "emergency key" nor the release handles in the trunk ('vert) or next to the driver's seat......don't even recollect if there one next to the passenger seat. May just go thru your list this weekend!
Also for your list, the Fob socket in the glove box.
