New Ceramics = New Squeak
OK here is the deal.. About 3-4 months ago I change my rotors with z51/with oem pads. Everything was fine except the for the dust. A few weeks ago I swap out the pads with some posi quiet ceramics. The first week was fine, but now the right front squeaks. After bedding a few times with the same results I just took the pads off and gave it a sanding (pads and rotor), put some anti-squeak and reinstalled. I took it for a test drive and sure enough the squeak was still there.
I took the pads out (just the right front) and replaced it with my old oem and guess what no squeak..
Is it possible that I just have a defective set of pads?
Thanks,
Rmedina

Safety Car
I installed GM ceramics over the summer and I too had a good bit of brake squeal after making the swap. I don't think I used enough of the silicone that came with the pads and I'm guessing that is part of my issue. I also did not bed the brakes which is probably the other part of my issue. With the roof off it sounds really bad but the car still stops well and I have no dust which is why I replaced the stock pads to begin with. It has gotten a bit better but it is still there. Does not seem to have any issue stopping so I'm not that concerned about it at this point.

They are Centric's Posi Quiet. The good folks over at Rockauto are sending me a new front set. This should take care of it..

Melting Slicks
Installed mine with powder coated calipers last summer.
Bedded according to instructions, blah blah blah....90-95% less dust. :-)
Yep, they squeak, but usually only when cold coming out of the garage.
Damn frustrating anyway.
