I didn't get 40rwhp I got 46rwhp, From: 13.30 @ 106.50 to 12.89 @ 109.75 282 rwhp before tune and 328rwhp after tune. Thats 46rwhp.

The tune was done by Mike Norris at Horsepower Sales in Pompano Beach, Florida. If you doubt me, I would be happy to show you the dyno results but then you would have to say you were wrong.

Did you think I made up the 40-46 rwhp numbers out of the blue. I've been here over 10 years and I don't need to inflate numbers that are published and printed out in front of 10 people.

I think the numbers they produced are easily achieved and they are no not out of the range in any way.

Spend more time reading rather than posting and you will learn quite a bit.
I think my reading comprehension is just fine.

The C5 runs 12.80's at 109.75, just a Varam Intake exhaust cutouts and dyno tune and its a 2.72 gear automatic !

I sure hate to trade for a slower car. Anybody got any experience on squeezing cheap hp out of the LS2 for numbers like $500 ?
So in other words...

Default Let me explain more clearly.

The car gained 15hp with the cold air and cutouts, then 6 months later the car gained 46hp after a dyno-tune. The cold air and cutouts were already considered and formed a baseline.

Do you still stand by your statement,

A printed dyno-run sheet, ii's black and white, computer generated, witnessed by dozens. You must know something I don't if you stand by your statement. I did it and i know I am not the only one seeing these types of numbers..

My 04 C5 responded well to a dyno tune from a local shop here where a lot of guys got their cars tuned.

I haven't had the C6 tuned for a couple of reasons, one is ive heard a lot of stuff about dyno tune supposedly voiding the cars warranty. Also, im perfectly happy with the way the car runs stock w/o the tune.

So you are telling me your C5 made 267whp bone stock? That is the lowest stock dyno I have EVER! heard about.

I hung out at a local shop as well as at HPE and watched then tune plenty of LS1/LS2 cars. They averaged around 15-20whp from a tune after adding a CAI or LID and getting a baseline, depending on how far off the AFR was from the factory.

Yes, I still stand by my statement. The only way you got 46rwhp from a tune is if you are quoting me dyno numbers from 2 different days that are not SAE corrected. THen, anything is possible. My little 4-cylinder might gain 20fwhp from changing oil using that technique.

The LS3 is a monster compared to a LS1. An A6 with 2.56s will certainly out perform your C5 - guaranteed!

After driving an 09 A6 with the base 2.56 gears for a long weekend a few months ago I think it would seriously give my C5 A4 with Vararam, full exhaust, 3.42s and a 3200 stall a good run for it's money and mine runs low 12s!

lol at picking up over 40rwhp from a tune only.

Something was VERY wrong with your car. That is most certainly well over double what every LS1 has picked up from tuning that I've ever seen.

Your 04 C5 dynoing 328 rwhp is only a little higher than what most stock C5s dyno'd after 01 (when they all got the LS6 intake). Something was very, very wrong to have dynod in the 260's stock (most dyno in the 305-315 range stock).

Understand that I'm not saying I don't believe your gains, but you need to understand the reasons for those gains.

What brand of cutouts did you use? Do you have any pictures?

I used QTP exhaust cutouts. They were $358 for a pair. The fit and finish was nice and the only problem is one of the motors loosened up and fell out. QTP said they would replace the motor and no charge, I think that says good things about QTP. They also came wired and the harness had a lighted switch, nice package.

Default i forgot to tell ya..

i forgot, I don't have any pics of the cutouts installed but I can tell you the location is just under the bulkhead behind the seats. No droning, no heat absorption, sound great and the switch lets you choose any opening between 0 and full open. Its fun to run closed when you pull up on a car and after agreeing to race you open the exhaust bring the revs up suprise a few people. Its also nice when the police pull up next to you.

Some may thing the cutouts are gimmicky but you have about 10 levels of sound to choose from instead of the one that came with your after market exhaust.

I would use QTP again for sure.
