Default Cool Garages

I just purchased a house with a 3 car garage and would like to see what everyone has done with their garages to get some ideas. I will have some pictures to contribute to the thread in a few months!

Also, there was an older thread with this same name that I bumped, but apparently it was too old to bump?! Didn't even know that was a rule. So I actually searched first, but in this case I shouldn't have....sigh.

I just finished this 2 car garage, and pics were posted 3 or 4 days ago on this site.

Main level garage. Still a bit of a work in progress.

And the 3 stall basement garage.

Noticed none of the garages had floor drains. This is a must for at least one bay for washing.

To me the most important thing is a lift. The pretty stuff can come later, if ever. Still, congrats to those with the pretty ones, they look great!

I want a lift for sure. It will be a few years before I am able to add one though. In the mean time, I am a bit of an OCD neat freak, so I want my garage to look nice and be organized and functional. So I love seeing what everyone else has done!

Local town bylaw doesn't allow floor drain in garage...environmental thing.

I just realized I don't have any photos of my garage, but it's nowhere as pretty as some of these.

I do have a floor drain, however, and it's NICE! I can hand-wash any of the cars in there, even in the dead of winter when it's -20 outside. Heated garage + hose tap inside it + floor drain = WIN.

i had a wide 2 car and went backwards (because couldnt go sideways) to get a 2 car 2 deep. Went to 14 foot ceiling so a lift was no issue. I love having the lift in my garage. As a former tech it allows me to do whatever i want to my vehicles. i got a mr.heater plumbed in and b ecause we insulated well the garage is nice and toasty,,,,,,,I think i like the garage threads the most of course we all think that we go big enuf on our garages, but as most find out theres never enuf room!!!!!!!!!!! so when building always go toooooooo big, paul

Wow!! Some awesome garages. I see a lot of improvements to garages posted here compared to just a year ago.

Here is mine:

Started with this

In process

Finished up like this

Ceiling limited me on the type of lift I could use. Going to change to a new style garage door opener though and gain the 2 feet clearance I need to put in a 4 post lift. Need room for more cars.

how bought getting a post and having the posts just go into the dry wall,,,,,, and they come with the fluid lins going across the floor. I think my 2 post is like 11-12 feet tall. BTW i love the floor you did

picture from my CF bio taken a year or so ago:

Used every SF of space allowed, right on the setbacks and at the height limit. Would have made it bigger but it is just big enough and most importantly for PHX it is air conditioned.

Just curious, it looks like your storing on a two post lift. Is that ok to store a car without the wheels supported?

Curious for my future garage project. I think a 4 post has its drawbacks for working on a car and would rather go 2 post.

Thanks!
