Another big Guy seat question, can it be lowered
Ok after having (5) C5's, and a 06 1Lt auto coupe, I stepped up to a 2008 3LT 6sp manual.the seat all the way back and down and I am squeezed in there. I sold the 06 and had a few 2010 Camaro's in between the vettes, but it seemd that the 1lt seat with no heat or adjustment gave me more room? is this true? makes sense.
is there any way short of pulling the padding out of the seats to gain more room? can they be move back? aftermarket frame rails?
I know lose weight and I will fit better, true, but while we wait for that to happen just checking in with my fellow Corvetters to see what idea they have.
One was to sell Vette and buy a SRT8

i am a big guy too and just got rid of my srt8 300C NICE car but could never find the sweet spot in those seats. I went to MB for now but looking at a Vette. i want to also check out the CTS V might be a fun car.

The only thing I can think of is the see thru glass top. I have always used the glass top as it gave me a couple more inches of headroom. I dont know if you have a painted or glass top car.

I have a big fat wide *** and I'm also tall. Oh, and I have a Vert so headroom is not an issue.
I find I'm most comfortable with the seat raised up off the floor so my butt isn't bottoming out.
Unfortunately where it's the most comfortable is also high enough that much of my forward view is blocked by the visor/header/mirror.
I have to split the difference and kinda duck and tilt my head to see around the mirror in sharp right hand turns.
I haven't gotten around to it but I've talked to an upholstery shop about replacing the foam in the seat cushion with something firmer and also reinforcing the seat's suspension.
Try a Search for this mod/upgrade. May solve or at least ease your problem.

The seat's all the way back and down on mine. My head
hits the halo (if I sit up and not 'slump over'). The glass top
has been a gawd-send for me. Once I'm in the car... I'm
comfortable.
Before I even looked at Corvettes, I went to a local new
car show and sat in a new GS just to be sure I would, in fact, fit.
The previous 'ride' was an MB CLK500 Convertable. Lots of room
but only had 300HP and I had no one to wave to. Prior to that
was an BMW M3 Vert. Got tired of getting 'hit on' by young guys
named Biff, Chip or Clipper in that one.

short of getting the clear top which gives you more headroom, I can't think of "lowering" the seats---they're practically flat to the floor now.
or, as some would say, there's not enuff padding in them, they're too thin, they don't hold you, etc........ your head would probably be sticking out three inches if these were "proper" seats, according to some.

have it
Yes I have the Glass top, in my 2010 Camaro's could not have the sun roof as you have more head room with out it. just a very long torso along with the add weight. I know just drive my Silverado and shut up

nah, not at all. I understand your issue, just wish I knew of a solution. unfortunately, there's electronics under the seat, too, which complicates things. have you contacted either DSVettes or a local upholstery shop to see what they'd recommend?

I am 6 ft 210 and fit fine in my C6. What I do is make sure that I dont have the lower cusion tilt to far reclined. Try moving this more level and you will go lower in the car.
