Deleting Key Fobs on 2008
Does the following procedure, which I found in a post related to a 2006 Corvette, also apply to the 2008 model? I bought a used 2008 and the 2 key fobs I was given are not the originals, so that not only are there 2 fobs out there that will open and operate my vehicle, I can't set up personal options for either.
The procedure will require three ten minutes cycles to
complete the matching process. Do the following:
1. The vehicle must be off.
2. Place the new, unrecognized transmitter in the
glove box transmitter pocket with the buttons
facing towards the passenger’s side.
3. Go to the rear of the vehicle and insert the vehicle
key into the key cylinder located above the license
plate. See Hatch/Trunk on page 2-14 for more
information on the key cylinder.
4. Open the trunk.
5. Turn the key five times within five seconds.
6. The DIC message will display OFF-ACCESSORY
TO LEARN.
7. Press the ACC button (ignition switch).
8. The DIC will read WAIT 10 MINUTES and will
count down to zero, one minute at a time.
9. The DIC will display OFF-ACCESSORY TO
LEARN again.
10. Press the ACC button (ignition switch).
11. The DIC will read WAIT 10 MINUTES and will
count down to zero, one minute at a time.
12. The DIC will display OFF-ACCESSORY TO
LEARN again.
13. Press the ACC button (ignition switch).
14. The DIC will read WAIT 10 MINUTES and will
count down to zero, one minute at a time.
15. A beep will sound and the DIC will read READY
FOR FOB #1. At this time, all previously known
transmitters have been erased.
16. Once the transmitter is recognized and programmed,
a beep will sound and the DIC will display READY
FOR FOB #2.
If you have additional transmitters to program, take
transmitter 1 out of the transmitter pocket and place
transmitter 2 in the pocket. This can be done repeatedly
until up to four transmitters have be programmed.
The DIC will then display MAX # FOBS LEARNED and
will exit the programming mode.
When you are done programming transmitters, press
the ACC button (ignition switch).
Thanks,
Mike

I hate reading so I'll let you read instaed!
>>C6 Fob Programming and Glove Box Slot Testing Procedures<<
One of those erases all FOBS and starts over (Step #9). I think what you typed is the proper method.

That was quick!! Actually, after posting my question I found the (almost) relevant instructions in the owner's manual. I hadn't read it previously because the paragraph started out with "The Canadian immobilizer..." so I had assumed that whole section related ONLY to Canadian owners.
The reason I say "(almost) relevant" is that it assumes you have an unrecognized key fob, so your instructions will definitely come in handy. Thanks very much!

I suggest you follow this version. Chris put a lot of work into writing and testing this version. IF you follow it EXACTLY you will be successful. Make sure you test the rear key lock cylinder ahead of time to make sure you can turn it 90 degrees AND make sure you get the existing FOB's far away and isolated from the car. Just having them out of the garage, in the house or outside, often won't do and the car won't go into the long programming.

If you would compare both versions, you'd see they are exactly the same. One is textual, the other is a "Step/action" table used in training circles. Either instruction will result in the same result.
I flew the S/A table past Chris for his perusal. I think it received his "Nihil Obstat" after review.

Both say about the same thing. The important thing is that you understand that the only way to delete a fob is to delete all fobs and then add back the ones you want. The long procedure is the one to use. Fobs cannot be selectively deleted.
