Default C6 Seats...

No this is NOT another thread complaining about the seats, but rather compiling examples of what people would like to see in the C7 (maybe as optional 'sport seats') and of course the Katech and Caravaggio seats can be had for the C6... I will start

Pratt & Miller

Caravaggio

Audi RS5 Standard (left) and Sport (right) seats

Porsche Sport Seats

It is cool that Audi has really nice sport seats and thus maybe GM Corvette could follow suit. I show the Porsche seats since quite often they are touted as fine examples of seating...I am not so much a fan of the seat and much prefer the first three examples I show.

I did not show Down South Vettes seats since they never came out with one... were supposedly to be shown in December but nothing ever appeared.

Michael

I couldn't understand how the Caravaggio seat would be comfortable with that large protrusion in the front leading edge of the seat cushion. But I tried it in the car at Carlisle; it's very comfortable. Not sure about the Katech for same reason. My liking is the Audi standard seat; looks good to me, Michael.

It really does not matter what any of us wants to see now for the C7 seats. I am sure the final design has been approved and they are now building prototype seats.

Was really just trying to consolidate what folks think about possible seats for the C7... GM Vette monitors the board and no harm in trying to let them know of some (yes this forum is a low percentage of C6 owners) desires. Really, just a low key exercise...

GM, this is a no-brainer: Make Caravaggio-designed seats optional on the C7 3LT and standard on the 4LT.

Sport seats are a $3k option in the 911. With similar pricing for Caravaggios, I'd expect this would be a VERY popular option.

And please, no squawking about certification stuff... should be easy since Caravaggios are always based on existing seats.

I personally don't mind the corvette seats. the few that are shown above are upwards for $5K a set.

I am quite happy with sports seats in my C6 and had the sport seats in both of my C5's. Had a friend with standard seats and there is a significant difference, I thought...

Found them actually very comfortable for extended time on the highway. Never got a backache, butt pains. With replacement hip I was quite surprised they still are very comfortable for extended 4-5 hrs at a time.

The mrz has a G35 coupe and I really don't care for those seats. Too damn high and stiff side bolsters. Seats to firm for my butt to sit in for any period of time. Same for my Tahoe seats. My daughters Accord has nice comfy seats too, but by far the C6's are the most comfortable.

Just an opinion...

BUT MANY AREN'T. I was one of those who thought Vette seats were great..or as good as you are reasonably gonna get. Boy was I WRONG.

Went for a drive yesterday in an AUDI S5. Best damn car seat I have ever been in. supportative and comfortable. The leather was perfect (NAPPA or some such name)...firm and thick..not gonna wear and wrinkle overnight.

As the car MSRP'd at $64,000 it is dead in the middle of loaded GS MSRP's.......if AUDI can do it...GM can do it.

Our seats are $8,970, as an installed option - the leather is like butter and stitching, flawless!

Those look REALLY nice. So GM ought to be able to do those in the C7 and only raise the price $10K? Cool!

Actually, in volume, it could be much less. That, and the price of the seating component originally in the car does not need to be factored.

GM could keep the seats in the c6 but refine them.Extend the BOLSTER for more support going around curves.Add the buttons for adjustments like they had in the C4 for tighter hold or extended if need be!! AND PUT SOME 50,000 DOLLAR CAR WORTHY LEATHER IN THE DAMN CAR!STOP BEING SO FREAKING CHEAP!!!

You are right on the 1989-1993 Sport Seats being a great option!

It's funny that GM just put suede inserts in the new Camaro ZL1 but the Corvette has yet to get them! Even just that minor change would work wonders for keeping your "seat" in the seat!
