Default I took a trip to see "Mike The Powdercoater" - (Pics)

It was a nice day for a drive so I drove down to Loganville, GA. I just got back from meeting with Mike and he installed some beautiful Crystal Red brake calipers.

Great guy who does great work.

Here are some before and after photos.

Looks better but they're still **** calipers IMO. I have them also, and the reason I haven't painted or powder coated mine is that even with the splash of color I think it's pretty obvious to any performance minded enthusiast that they are entirely substandard. I like what you did, I think it looks better, but I'll wait until I find a Z06 kit available at the right price.

Anyways don't let my babbling discourage you. It looks great.

Mike did mine and I can't say anything but great things. By far the best visual mod i've done to my vette.

Is your roof/pillar painted or is that just the way the light is hitting it?

I do not think you went far enough! While you had the calipers off you should have cleaned up the rotors and hats and either plated them or sprayed them with high heat aluminum paint! Job looks unfinished as is. Easy job to paint, especially with the brakes apart!!

The "halo' is painted BLACK. The top is just a 'glass' top. It just looks black from the outside.

I plan on having the 'A' pillars painted black to match the 'Halo'.

I agree but it was a quick trip (5 hrs each way) down to see Mike and I didn't have time to do that. I will tackle that problem on another day.

I'll probably look at zinc plating them at some point.

Default Almost Chrome

Mike has done two sets for me over the years..the first was a bright red on my 05' C6 and now Almost Chrome on my 07' C6..Both C6's were Arctic White..the Almost Chrome really looks good on the white car..the color does not jump out at you but rather blends in with the white and chrome wheels..
