Default Anyone done a brake upgrade

I have a 08 coupe, I am thinking about putting some Z06 brakes on it. Has anyone done this?

I had it done on my '07 when they did the APS TT install in April of '07.

I put Z06 brakes on my '06. Mostly for cosmetic reasons with bigger wheels. Performance is better but...........

If you are going to track your car, you should really consider something from the aftermarket.

If you go with the Z06 brakes, I recommend that you at least get aftermarket rotors that are plated. Or you can get the Z06 rotors zinc plated, yourself.

Either way you eliminate slinging rusty water all over your clean wheels after each wash.

And, again if you are not going to track the car, get ceramic pads for less dust/easier cleaning.

Just my $.02.

I have an 06 Z51 and upgraded to the Z06 package...Major improvement in braking..I agree too, aftermarket rotors would be way to go...The Z06 rotors are heavy and the kiddles do rust...Though I painted the interior of the rotor and that stopped rust, I am looking for aftermarket 2 piece rotors like Wilwood, Baer, because they are lighter and don't rust...They are much nicer looking too and you will need bigger wheels....My .03 cents

It's not as much the rim size as it is the offset of the wheels...Check with the wheel manufacturer if it will fit big brake kits...I am running 19/20, but remember stock Z06's are 18/19...
