Default Will this cross-beam adapter work?

This is from Summit Racing. The one at Northern Tool is apparently unavailable.

Any words of wisdom before I order a couple?

Thanks in advance.

They will work but need some modification to work properly. They are to wide as is. I had to cut mine down and have the centering pin removed, turned down to proper size for my jack, and then rewelded. Cost me a total of $35, but the fit is perfect for the C6. I got mine from Northern Tool several years ago.

I think that's the exact same one that Northern sells... I have 2 of them but needed to modify them to work with my floor jack and jack stands. Not all that hard to do but I wanted it to have more stability with my Craftsman floor jack......

Did not fit my jack and I did not want to modify the pin. I had to send it back.

2x3 board with steel plate works great and fits jack stands perfectly. I ordered these and completely unhappy - didn't fit jack stands or jack. If you lived close by to me I would give you the ones I have.

This looks like the one I purchased from Summit that was very poorly made. I don't know what jack it was made to fit but the protruding pin was very short with maybe 3/8" female threads for securing. I opted to have custom front and rear crossbeam adapters made by a machine shop in OKC that have the proper size pin to snugly fit my floor jack. I finished them off with a yellow powdercoat finish, end caps, rubber pads at the contact points and C6 logo decals that really make them look factory. If you look in my photo album they are lying on the floor beside my car. I probably have $250.00 in them but know for certain they won't fail or slip out of the jack. If you're interested in the measurements I'll be happy to provide.

Default Modification to Summit cross-beam adapter

I have a Summit cross beam adapter. I modified it as follows:

1) I made a 3.5 x 3.5 x 1/2 inch piece of plywood with a 1.5 inch hole in the center.

2) I attached it to the pin side of the adapter with 3M double stick tape so the original pin was centered in the hole.

3) I got a bolt from home depot about 1.5 inches long and bought two nylon spacers that are 1/2 inch inside diameter, 1 inch outside diameter and each about 3/8 inch thick. SKU 030699 87378 4.

4) I then put the two spacers on the bolt and screwed the bolt into the threads in the original pin.

Didn't have to do anything with the original pin and the result is it fits right in the hole in my jack.

Sorry, having trouble with pics.

Paul.
