2012 Chevy 100-Year Anniversary Corvette to be Sold at Barrett-Jackson
This morning we were tipped about a "mystery" Corvette or Camaro that will be auctioned this weekend at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach. After digging around the interwebs and firing off a bunch of emails, it was our tweet to Corvette PR rep David Caldwell who confirmed that the 2012 Chevrolet on Barrett-Jackson's run list was indeed a special edition Corvette.

The auction of the 2012 Chevy 100-Year Anniversary Corvette is scheduled for Saturday. Chevy will release more details about the Special Edition Corvette later this week.

Interesting, but probably too much money for a (I assume) special vin and a decal on a standard vette - but maybe they throw in a special color as well

We spoke with GM's Harlan Charles at Sebring and one of the topics was the C7. You can see the video to that interview here:

I made some calls today and all I can come up with is maybe this 2012 special model is some kind of dressed up Grand Sport. Boy, they sure are tight lipped about this stuff this year...

The Centennial Edition Corvettes are exclusively done in the new Carbon Flash Metallic exterior with satin-black graphics and unique Centennial Satin Black Wheels with red brake calipers. Red accents are throughout the inside and outside of the car. All the Centennial Corvettes will be available with Magnetic Selective Ride Control.
A special “100-Years” graphic showing Louis Chevrolet behind a steering wheel are located on the B-Pillars, the center caps of the wheels and the center of the steering wheel. The graphics are designed to blend with the car The Seats are also embossed with the centennial logo as well. A Small “100″ replaces the fleur-de-lis symbol on the Corvette’s crossed flags logo.
Inside you’ll find an ebony leather wrapped dash and doors with complimentary red stitching. Suede accents used first on the 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon are also found on the Centennial’s seats, steering wheel, shifter and armrests.
The RPO for the Centennial package is ZLC. Pricing will be released early this summer prior to production.
