Dash Lettering
Recently purchased the stick on letters that go on the Dash Pad...cleaned the pad with de-natured alcohol, the first letter applied would not stick...cleaned the service once more, still it would not stick. Did not try the remaining letters...Anyone else have this problem? Hate when you purchase something and it does not work...

You have to really scrub the indentations to remove all of the the dash 'protectant' (Armor All, Aeropspace303, whatever).
You can use small square pads (alcohol swabs at the pharmacy) soaked in alcohol to do this.
Repeat this step at least five or six times.
Then get some adhesion promoter. Comes in a felt-pen-like applicator. Apply it to the recess's and let it dry.
Then stick on your letters.
It must be warm and you have to let them setup overnight.
If you got stainless steel letters you'll have more trouble than using the vinyl/plastic ones because the metal ones won't flex.

Safety Car
Mine stuck with no problem. But it does depend on how many coats of protectant is on it. I like to use Maguires Interior detailer and cleaner. It doesn't put all that slick stuff on the dash.

Same thing happened to me. I scrubbed the letters and used qTips with alcohol. Did it over and over - about 10 times to make sure. Did not stick. I was pretty frustrated. At one point I was thinking - staple gun! Will try again in a week or so with some other adhesive options/promoters...

Just used Qtip and alcohol and had no problems. I did use the raised letters and not the vinyl. I did have a set of vinyl, and they did not stick at all.

Fill in the letters? Don't you know what kind of car you have?

Use a couple of dabs of gorilla glue or silicone adhesive and apply three tiny - and I mean really small - dots with a toothpick at the top, middle and bottom of each letter.
I did it on my C5. Not about to do it on my C6. I learned my lesson.
IMO, if you don't use any adhesive at all, one or two will eventually come off anyway. Plus, it's a pain because you can't just wipe over it when you are detailing unless they are affixed really good.

You also can't use your fingers. The oils will kill the adhesion.

Finally got the alcohol bottle out, cleaned once again..found some 3M Adhesive Enhancer...small packet with a sponge...wiped the area and the letters, let both dry well, then applied the letters..applied a little heat..seem to working well now..
Gives a nice look to the dull looking dash, better than I thought...can always take them off if not completely satisfied..

I don't think I've ever seen a pic of a C6 with a deployed passenger-side airbag on this Forum.
