Default Spectre 341 Hill climb first video LG ZR1

Hi Guys, here is the first cut with no editing. We will have a nice video up that will include much more but here is the in car (roof cam) for one of our 5 runs up the hill.

The run times were 3:22.x and 3:17.x and two 3:14.4x times. My last run was heading to a 3:11 high or Low 3:12 when I had to stop for Aaron Pfadt's crash.

Hey guys,
Bring your cars down and we will set them up so you can run yours.

Then I can have the "Coffee" in my hand while YOU run.

I just read the blog. Aaron broke the right front corner, but apparently he is fine. http://www.pfadtracing.com/blog/

Lou, very nice. That kind of run is a hoot!

Now I do have one question for you. If the guy behind you was flashing his lights wanting to pass you, did you:

A. Slow down and let him pass;

B. Give him the finger in your rear-view mirror;

C. Pull the Glock from your center console and shoot back at him; or

D. Curse the fact that you had no place to pull over and stop to let the other driver pass?

Seriously, that was an awesome clip, and a job well done.

Aaron was lucky that he crashed on a Left Hand turn and hit the mountain. Had he crashed on the right hand turn, he would have not hit anything for at least 200 ft down. I was the next car up the hill and the flaggers were on the top of the hills so there were no flags to see.
I missed Aaron, sitting in the middle of the road by about 2 inches at about 100mph.

I told him that he would have made the corner with our sway bars on it

Here is a site with more photos: http://speedhunters.com/archive/2011...challenge.aspx

Thanks

They spaced each car out according to their times, plus a minute or so. The only way to catch someone is a Mechanical problem or a crash.

This was the most scary fun I have had. It takes care of teh adrenalin fix for sure.

Lou, I understand how the run works, and agree that is the best wood production technique this side of the bedroom.

My post was driven by another more idiotic thread two months ago about driving etiquette on narrow, impossible-to-pass on, canyon roads.

On the other hand, people bashing the OP in this thread cannot possibly make the blind statement that it was possible to get off to the side of the road to allow this person to pass in 10 minutes.

There are many roads that are narrow, twisty (spell that as fun in a sports car ), up and down hill, and that may have 4 - 7 mile stretches where there are no places to pull far enough right to allow a pass. At 35 MPH, those strips of road can take 8 to 12 minutes to cover at the speed limit.

If the OP was comfortable doing the speed limit, that was his prerogative. He did nothing wrong. On some roads, the speed limit is all I enjoy also. ..... No argument from me; just stating an opinion.
The road you were on was what I was trying to describe to other forum members.

Again, you did an awesome driving job.
