Default Sunoco Gas..okay?

I try to use the better gas in the vette. I have Shell, exxon and BP close...however a sunoco station just opened up less than two minutes from my apartment. Just want the best for my baby!

Isn't Sunoco the official gas of NASCAR? . I think any major brand premium gasoline would be fine.

Yes it is.....

Just checking.....every once and while you hear some stuff so, I just like to check. I've not used sunoco in awhile as it has not been convenient.

Thanks

Sunoco sells both 93 and 94 octane premium, I believe.
Some of their stations also sell 100 octane...

EDIT: also see this other thread http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...-avaiable.html

Their top grade fuel is as fine as Shell or BP or Mobil.

I remember back in the '80s I had a '68 Torino I used to take to the track and always used Sunoco 100 octane. It's good stuff. I wish we had Sunoco here in NV. The highest we got here is 91.

What is surprising about it. Google points you to:

http://www.toptiergas.com/

That has a link to:

http://www.76.com/OurGas.aspx

And that has a link to the parent company:

http://www.conocophillips.com/EN/Pages/index.aspx

Surprise! You have discovered MARKETING!

Now hurry out and buy some 'top tier gasoline', but hurry supplies are limited. Operators are standing by. But wait there's more, call now and get a second scam free. Just pay additional processing and handling.

Sorry, you probably thought you were really on to something there didn't you?

I have not heard of this problem with C6s yet, but with my old C5 we ran Chevron (or new Texaco) because some gasoline with high sulfur content would foul the fuel gauge sensors(gas gauge would crap out.) Sometime you could fix the problem by using a bottle of Techron. Maybe Chevron-Texaco gas may not be any better, but it does contain the detergent techron, so that is why I started ot use it in my C5. This was after the gas gauge crapped out on me. I must admit that I use Shell now also because it contains a detergent as well.

Anyway, I don't know about Sunoco, it could be fine, but I have a habit of buying either Chevron, Texaco or Shell.

I think Sunoco gas is really good plus made in America.

The following gas companies import Middle Eastern oil:

Shell................................... ... 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco..................... 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil........................ 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway............. 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco.................................. 62,231,000 barrels

And CITGO oil is imported from Venezuela who’s Dictator Hugo Chavez hates America and openly avows our economic destruction! (We pay Chavez's regime nearly $10 Billion per year in oil revenues!)

The U.S. Currently imports 5,517,000 barrels of crude oil per day from OPEC. If you do the math at $100 per barrel, that's over $550 million PER DAY ($200 BILLION per year!) handed over to OPEC, many of whose members are our confirmed enemies!!!!! It won't stop here - oil prices could go to $200 a barrel or higher if we keep buying their product.

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:
Sunoco..........................0 barrels
Conoco...........................0 barrels
Sinclair.........................0 barrels
BP/Phillips....................0 barrels
Hess..............................0 barrels
ARC0..............................0 barrels
Maverick.......................0 barrels
Flying J..........................0 barrels
Valero.............................0 barrels
Murphy Oil USA *.............0 barrels *Sold at Wal-Mart , gas is from South

Arkansas and fully USA owned and produced. Not only that but they give scholarships to all children in their town who finish high school and are

legal US citizens.

All of this information is available from the U.S. Department of Energy and each company is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.

Hmmmm, I seem to recall it was 102 octane and bright blue in color. Should remember, I pumped thousands of gallons of it into other folks' rides.

Peace, out.

It's Conoco/Philips, not BP/Philips. BP owns Arco....unfortunately. Arco was a great american oil company.
