Default I need a little nav help

I need a little nav help. I would like to stop showing poi's on the map; the book seems to indicate there is a way to do that; I can go to the POI menu and change them, but the book shows a poi off button which I cannot seem to find. What am I missing?

Many thanks.

Don't have a Nav so can't answer directly but here's the link to Talon90's Nav tutorial. I'm sure what you need is in here, probably the first or second section. Good luck.

The easy way is to touch the microphone button and say "POI OFF".

Rick has linked you to my navigation tutorial and please feel free to contact me for any questions you may have on use or on the tutorial once you have read it. In the mean time, I normally recommend to owners that you simply change the map scale. Any scale above 1/2 mile will turn off the POI icons on the screen and it leaves them for easy access if you decide that you want them.

Otherwise, touch the map screen and press the POI button at the lower right, you can disable quick POI's from there.

Paul, thanks for the help. I did read your tutorial previously (thanks for that), here is where I was stuck: Instead of hitting the screen anywhere, I was hitting the menu button since that seemed like the only option. That gets me to the POI selection in the setup but does not let me disable them. Thanks for the guidance, your last suggestion is what I did and of course it works fine. Easy, when you know what you are doing!! Thanks again.

For me, the 'POI Off' voice command is the only one that works on a regular basis, so that's the one I use.

No, he probably isn't kidding. That is the only way I get them off too. Works well everytime.

One must speak softly and kindly. Otherwise the "voice" won't like you and all sorts of bad things can happen. I found out the hard way one day by hollering at her.

There's a long list of commands in the owner's manual for the NAV system. Trying to remember them all is nearly impossible, but they are there.
