Are all C6 Targa Tops interchangeable ??????
I have been looking at some new Corvettes lately. I have a 2005 with the dual roofs and was wondering if I keep the clear one will it fit on a 2011. Thanks in advance.........

Everything I've read here says they are all interchangeable. I'm just going by what I read here and see when doing a search on e....motors. They say 2005-2011 as the range for the top to fit.

"Targa" tops will not fit on a Corvette.
Porche has "targa" tops. Corvettes have removeable roof panels. :P
Unless it is a ZR1 or Z06. They don't come off too easy.

You won't find "Targa" listed on any GM parts list.
Do Porsche owners call anything on their vehicles by Corvette specific terms?
I know I'm paddling upstream so it's a personal bugaboo, so I do post in a bit facetious fashion about it hence the... :P
I'm right, but I will never win a popular vote by any measure on the matter.
I know brand names often become a widespread if incorrect label.

Actually, that's not quite correct. "targa" is a generic automotive term which, when applied to any vehicle with a single removeable roof panel, is a correct usage of the word. True, it was first coined by Porsche, but has come into use in the general automotive lexicon to mean any vehichle with a single removeable roof pnl. Much as "Stetson" came to mean any brand of wide brimmed cowboy hat.

Late 2008 and newer have latches that have fixed rollers in an effort to minimize creaking and squeaking. The rollers are easily spotted by the flat shape instead of round.
Either type latch is about as good as the other, either can have squeaking and creaking issues that are easily resolved by applying silicone to the weatherstriping and/or putting a small piece of heat shrink or silicone on the alignment pins. Some require nothing and are fine as is.
