GM certainly got aggressive on sales promotions in the January to June period, which obviously helped. With the introduction of Carlisle Blue and no base black available for 2012 it will be interesting to see what the new model year sales will be. One very positive thing GM has done however, is to start seriously advertising the C6 in the last month; I think this could really pay off if they keep it up!

I don't understand the allocation thing. If production is down and sales slow why don't they let any dealer order anything they want?

"Produced" means just that. That's the number of cars built during the reported time period.
"Delivered" means cars that have been delivered to the retail customer during the reported time period. In other words, "Delivered" = "sold".
If you read my post #12, I explain in detail, from information GM supplies to "Inverstors" each month, the number produced and the number sold("Delivered") for the month of June and YTD. Notice that even though the 2012's "formally" went into production in June, 2011, 85 2012's were built pryor to June. I also showed the breakdown between 2011 & 2012's built in June 2011.

According to GM's figures they give to "Investors" they produced 13,596 2011 model year C6's. That includes all models; base, GS, Z06 & ZR1.
