Default Need a litttle help... Plastic latch on consike lid

How do you remove the plastic latch off of the console lid? Don't want to break it.

I did mine a while ago, but it was pretty easy, my old one was broke. Once you take the inner cover off it is pretty easy. Be careful that little plastic part is $40 retail and about $30 through forum vendors.

If you are trying to remove it to replace the lid, then you are talking about the springed part that has to be removed and then inserted into the new lid. You have to be careful, but you can use a screwdriver and gently push the bottom part away from the spring and pry it out. Just be sure to look at it and see how it is connected before you remove it.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. Thought maybe it was spring loaded but I don't think so.
