car transport

Intercity Lines, one of the major carriers that services Barrett-Jackson, is a Forum Sponsor and offers a discount and great service. Just be sure you fully understand the schedule of pickup and delivery no matter who you use.
Intercity Lines ONLY offers enclosed, insured, lift gate loading and door to door service. All our transporters are equipped with drip barriers to protect lower lever vehicles from upper level vehicles. We also secure each vehicle down using nylon wheels saddles over the tires only, that way the car rides on it's own suspension, the safest way for the car to travel. We also cover each car with a cloth car cover and a plastic cover for added protection while inside the transporter. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us @ 800-221-3936.
Thanks,
Jim

thanks for all the info on car transports. Unfortunately those mentioned reported that they cannot do much before the end of the month due to Pebble Beach activities. Car needs to be picked up this week.
Thomas C Sunday transport is one of the two best that can pickup within the week that have the right equipment.

In the past I've had great service from Passport but they were supposed to pick up my Grand Sport this week for transfer to California for some mods and they cancelled without explanation.

I know you prefer a closed carrier but if you run into availability issues you might try an open rig. I have shipped my Vette 4 times on open carriers without nary an issue. Even the first time from the dealer in Lansing MI., to Fl.. Dealer assured me they ship 100's of cars on open carriers. That trip went through a blissard in Michigan and 14" of rain in Fl and barely needed a hosing off on arrival. PM me if you need a referral. Open carriers plan their trip only days before they load.

As somebody else said don't leave open carriers out of your consideration. The factory uses open carriers to ship cars all over the country with few issues.

Safety Car
OPEN all the way and save yourself some $$$$ for MODS
Had my car shipped from NV to NY with no problems or issues. Car was also cleaner then expected on arrival. Saved over $500 by going open.
Good luck!

INTERCITY
I am usng Intercity in October to ship my '07 Vert to Florida from RI.
Cost invluding Fuel Surcharge is $1350 enclosed. Another company was charging me $750 open so the difference is well worth the difference. Besides I would have had to travel 50 additional miles to pick up the car and Intercity is door to door.
Call Jim at Intercity. I have used them before to ship classic cars and they always treat the cars like they are their own. Good company.

I used these guys to transport my C6 from Georgia to California. Did a great job and had it delivered in five days door to door.

I ended up using Thomas Sunday and was extremely impressed. Due to timing most carriers were at California show. These guys surpassed my expectations.
