Default Newbie question steering question?

As a recently new owner of a Z06, I notice when turning very sharply and slowly to the left or right at a start ,it almosts sounds as if the tires are rubbing against something...a unusual sound. However, you never hear this sound driving fast or carving thru canyons. Can someone explain or do I have some type of issue.? Thanks You for you patient forum members!

The front tires are so wide they 'scrub' the road at very slow speeds or in very tight turns like parking maneuvering. That is most likely the sound you hear and it's normal. You may even feel some slight feedback through your steering wheel when it is happening.

That's what happens on cars with big front tires! Nothing wrong with your car.

Yep. The inside and outside of the very wide tires are trying to turn in the same radius. Since that is physically impossible, they "hop" to catch up. It is a combination of the steering geometry and the tire width. Perfectly normal.
