Melting Slicks
Mark, Thanks for posting pics of your beautiful Red Z06 with the GT1 Stripes. That's when I just couldn't get it out of my head about doing the Wife's Jetstream Blue Grand Sport. It took me a couple of days to install all the GT1 stripe package... my Wife is very pleased with the finished product. She gets a lot of attention with it and has won a few trophy's with it already.

A question for GT1 owners. Recently I saw a picture of a black GT1 from the rear. (Think it was one for sale on eBay). Its yellow stripe extended all the way down the back end of the car to the bottom.
I'm the second owner of a black car, but my yellow stripe ends at the back end of trunk lid just ahead the spoiler (that is, doesn't go down the back end of the car). Since I'm the second owner, I'm not certain which is correct.
I'm curious how other black GT1s (or yellow cars) are configured. Was the one I saw a custom stripe? Or do OEM stripes go to the bottom in the rear? Which way is your car's stripe laid out?

The one you saw was probably a custom job and not a real GT1 edition car.
If they list the VIN, you can verify if it's a custom built GT1 or a factory built GT1. The "official" GT1 cars have a VIN number ending in 3000XX or 4000XX.

The OEM GT1s did not have the stripe going down the back of the car. They end at the spoiler on the top deck.

GT1 Z06 up for sale
Well I hate to do it but I have listed my 2009 GT1 Z06 up for sale. The car is located in Arizona but its listed for sale at Corvettemike.com
Just did not want to put miles on the car, so beautiful so I'm looking at a C7 convertible that I can drive.

Good luck with the transactions. The GT1 is still eye candy.

Thanks. My grand plan would be to sell off 3 Trans Ams and my Dodge cummins diesel and a backhoe tractor. Then I could cover the cost of the C7 and still keep the GT1.

Here is a picture of the 2 black convertibles in Lebanon, Mo. A friend of mine owns one of them, a doctor in town owns the other one. One is an automatic the other a manual.

Well the Trans Ams rarely are driven, same with the GT1. While they are still for sale, I bought the C7 anyway. I did sell the cummins diesel truck but still have too many in the herd. 3 T/A's, 2 vettes and a hemi shaker challenger. Cars are my addiction I'm afraid but better than booze or drugs!

We have just finished our C7 show car and are thinking of selling Jake. We bought this GT1 new and almost immediately converted it to our wide body display and show car. He has our 1.5 front and rear wide body kit in carbon fiber, ZO6 brakes in yellow, ZR-1 wheels in black, Xtreme rear spoiler and diffuser. This car was one of 24 black coupes, and 1 of three with the chosen options. it has the dual top, 6 speed, Z51, NPP exhaust, and navigation. This car has won many shows and is showroom clean inside and out. We have original receipts, build sheet, window sticker and color copy of Cert of origin. We retained all the original parts. Every modification was bolt on. nothing changes the originality of the car. so, in essence you get two body and brake options for the price of one. 3920 on the odometer. the majority is from the drive back home to Florida from taking delivery of it at Hare Chevrolet in Indianapolis.
