I wonder if that 100 Million includes the few LT5 engines produced. They do have the same bore centers as the rest of small blocks out there. When you consider that the bottom end of the LS engines owes the design to what was learned with the LT5, there might not have been an LS (or even a Corvette) without what was learned.
