C6 adapter works well for any threaded type C5 shift ****. Remove your C6 ****, add adapter spring onto shaft, slide adapter on and tighten allen screws, thread on new ****. Done. It does sit a little higher than factory, maybe 1/2 " or so.

Those instructions will not apply to the removal of a automatic shift **** on an '06. The shifter in the 2005 C6 was a four speed automatic also referred to as an A4. This was the same shifter assembly used in the C5 four speed automatic.

The transmission and subsequently the shifter for the C6 was changed in 2006 to a six speed automatic (A6). These instructions won't work on a 2006 (A6) and as such. The **** removal is completely different.
