Safe max speed while going topless?
On a completely closed and supervised track and definitely NOT on an open public road (honest ), I got my Vette up to 105MPH with the top off and the car just seemed to start shuddering or shaking a bit, not to mention it was mind-numbingly loud in the cockpit, but the latter is not what I'm worried about. It kind of felt unsafe at that speed with the top off whereas with the top on and windows up, it's smooth cruising at that speed.
Is there a listed safe top speed for C6 coupes with the targa top removed?

I had my 08 on the Atlanta Motor Speedway with the top off two weeks ago. Hit 100 with no problems the car was very stable but could not go faster do to track rules. It was just a few parade laps but felt great.

My vette is a hardtop but my wife and I took our XLR-V up to 130 with the roof down and windows down...felt fine and would've kept going if room allowed.
If you felt shuddering at only 105 mph I'd get the wheels checked for balance. Something is definitely wrong as that is not a very high speed to feel anything but 100% stable.

Quite a few if you're willing to go up and down them at normal speeds a few times first to make sure no one with a badge is hiding somewhere.
The tires and alignment were just checked about 2k miles ago and they seem fine. Maybe it was just wind buffeting that I'm not used to. It's my first pop-top car capable of actually going fast.
Perhaps I need to "research" this some more.

when I was younger we did a little over 150 in a friends c5 vert, no issues at all with the top down.
my c6 today with the targa top off is pretty noisey on the freeway in general, so I can understand the motivation behind your question.

Could the shuddering be lack of chassis stiffness with roof off?
Could lift have occured with air flow under the rear lift (trunk) glass?
Since this was on a race track, 105 is actually kind of slow (with top speed is near 190).
Now to answer your question what is a "safe" top speed w/ targa off...I do not know.

I've done 145 with the targa off, the car was handling fine, but the wind resonance became painful to my ears at that speed. And anything that wasn't heavy in the back hatch came flying out! Almost lost my windshield sun visor!

Lol, very true. The little women likes to accelerate very quick up to 60 or so but no faster.
I had my vert at 140mph with the top down with no problems.
$mega million dollar rebuild of our interstate thats 30 miles from me which was closed off.
