Default Rocks in Panel Gap

Read the FAQ about the rocks in the panel gap between the rocker panel and the rear quarter panel in front of the rear tire. From the wheel side I stuffed in foam between the wheel liner and the quarter panel per the FAQ's.

Still getting rocks stuck in the gap. Are they coming from the brake duct? How can I close this off? Apsis front splash guards are on the car.

Any one else have this minor but annoying problem?

2010 GS.

I get small rocks in the same location on my 2010 GS Coupe, and I also have the Apsis front splash guards installed. Seems to be much worse on the left hand/driver's side. I've not yet attempted to install the foam between rear wheel liner and quarter panel. I've been periodically removing screws and pulling the panel out to remove the rocks, but would love a permanent solution to this problem as well.

Default I did

I did get rocks stuck in there till I pulled my wheel liners out of the way and used duct tape on the back side to keep the rocks out. Problem solved.

It bugs me too. I've thought about filling the gap with clear silicone sealant.

Of course, loosening all those little bolts to remove the rocks gave me a chance to use my Torx bits.

The duct tape sounds like a good solution, I'll try it.

Any way the source is the brake ducts ingesting the rocks?

No. Run your hand around the inside front of the rear wheel well. There's a gap from bottom to the 12 o'clock position between the liner and fender. Part of that gap is the exit for the rear duct.

The gravel actually is flung by the front of the rear tire into that gap.

Drivers side worse, did the foam weather strip, didn't help much. Inner fender gap too large, thinking of just running a bead of black silicone.

This reminds me to tackle this issue on my '11 GS.
Been avoiding it long enough!

No problem here, but then I avoid gravel and any loose road base.

What can I say, road queen!

Sounds as if the sealant would be the way to go.

Used some foam in the larger openings and then covered the lip of the fender liner from the 12 o'clock position down to the bottom of the liner in the front with black silicone sealant. Used nearly an entire large tube of it but with it being black and inside the fender lip, you can not see it. It is on my 2011 GS and there has not been one rock in either side since. Of course, you will need to remove the wheels for access with a
the caulk gun.

The rocks seem to come and go. Sometimes there are quite a few present, next time I look, they are gone.
