Which Battery?
I need a few opinions.....I need to replace the battery in my '06. The car is driven only sparingly as I enjoy having a "garage queen"! I do keep a tender on it.....and I just purchased a CTEK 3300 to replace the tender. Now should I stay stock with the Delco Battery or move up to an Optima??? Thanks.

If you got 5 years out of your Delco go for another one. I have an 07 and I need to replace my battery as well. My Delco held up nicely and is a little cheaper then the Optimas from what I've seen online. I will probably go with a Delco when I decide to change it out.

Sears Platinum .. (Odessey) my humble opinion ..
Independant of the car, I chose to buy what I think is the very best battery and tires .... I just want to absolutly minimize the possibility of getting stranded somewhere, even in my own garage ....

ok...Think About It..
So here is what I think...
You really only pay to use a battery for time period... Optima is a good battery, I have it in 3 of my cars.. Their Warranty is only for 3 years, not 7 years as a AutoZone Duralast Gold, and they cost a lot more...
So, for my math, and knowing Corvette is hard on batteries... For $99 you get a 3 year no pro-rate (handy thing right there), and 7 years warrantied... They are open Nights & Weekends...All over the place & Dealers for a Delco, not so much.
My math is, a battery from AutoZone will cost less than 4 cents a day for 7 years, and you can bank on it... And "IF" a Optima were to last a full 7 years.. it would still be over 6 cents a day..
So I have had the AutoZone Duralast for a couple years now, fit perfect, and it works.. all you can ask..

That's not a bad idea either. Love the math calculations!

I had a Red Top in my C5 and it was still strong when I traded the car. Battery was about 8 years old. I have the AutoZone Duralast batteries in my 56 & my 64 and my DD Mercedes. When I need to replace the battery in my Z06 it will be a Duralast 90-DLG from AutoZone.

I have an Optima "Yellow Top" and put a lot of hard use on it, (run the fan & electric water pump" with the engine off at the race track.. It has been "PERFECT" for over 2 years now & its at the track app 3 weekends a month during the summer.. (From March to Nov)
Never had any problems, & I also put a battery tender on it maybe once a month over night ....just to be sure it's "topped off"

My opinion is that you need to buy what fits your application. If the Vette were completely stock, I would have gone to AutoZone or gotten a Red Top.

I found the above battery from Advanced auto for $109 plus 15% off and another $35 off by using big35 as check out code thanks to another members suggestion. $87 picked up. To make it an even sweeter deal they install it for free and if you spend $100 so basically another $14 you get a $50 gift card towards a future purchase of $100 or more. So I figured while we were on the math topic I would share this. This happens to be the best deal ever!!!
