Garage Lifts for C6
This may be a bit off topic, but I am seeking advise from trusted Vette-Setters. We are making plans for a new home, one thing that it will have is a garage with a lift!!! Do you have recommendations on a lift and pics of course if you can provide them. The lift would be used for maintenance purposes and would share the garage bay with our 08 coupe. Your comments are appreciated!!!

There are quite a few that would not recommend purchasing a Superlift(or anything from Keith Goolsby). Do a search on them, and you will find all kinds of info on lifts.

For extra parking get a four post. For working on your car, get a 2 post lift. I have a 2 post. My dad has a 4 post.

Most important thing is to get that garage ceiling up as high as possible, to the rafters, or even tray the ceiling and floor above. Then you'll be able to go with any lift. Oh and don't forget to run plumbing, 220v outlets and A/C in there ...

Highly recommend Direct Lift Pro 8....
and you visit Greg Smith Equipment web site and READ thru thoroughly about lifts, specs, what to watch for etc. Remember cheap is not the indicator you want for purchasing a lift..

If you're looking for a 2 post portable lift consider Dannmar MaxJax from Costco.

If you are mostly going to work on your cars, then I would say a 2 post lift. If you are going to store and do SOME work on your cars, then a 4 post is the ONLY way to go. Storing your car on a 2 post isn't something I would want to do, plus it takes up space instead of freeing up space.
I put my wifes exhaust on in 30 minutes with the 4 post lift, also have a jack bridge to take off the wheels and leave it on stands, not as convenient as a two post for the wheel removal jobs, but overall much better choice for me.

107" BUT the are about 5 critical measurements needed for those of us with lower ceilings. I will try in find the thread where those measurements are cited.

Another great thing about a 4 post, I wheel mine from one side of the garage to the other depending on whether it is summer or winter storage time, one guy can move it any which way but loose with the dollies!

I would definitely feel safe under yours. The two post, not so much.

Not used for storing but for working on the car. My son-in-law has one. Real nice. When you're done just break it down and put away. It's portable. 5 big bolts on each post screw into red heads in the concrete.

Forgot you said you were building a garage...........I would go with the widest, deepest, tallest you can legally and financially afford, you will only regret not doing it later.

I use my friend's home lift regularly. I'm not sure of the brand but I highly recommend a 4-post drive-on lift. I imagine it's standard but make sure the runners are perfectly level (so the car sits dead level when it's on the lift). This helps when adjusting the setup. I'm sold on my friend's lift...it's incredibly versatile.
