80,000+ mile Report
Hard to believe the 07 rolled past 80,000 miles last week. About every 10,000 miles I have been doing an update on its status. So here goes.
This is my daily driver (Of course) here in So Cal. The car is an C6 coupe LS-2, A6 with Z-51 LMB with all the whistles and bells (Except for the 5 way power ashtrays....)
The good, No significant mechanical issues with the car, It runs great, gets about 28+ MPG at 75 MPH, still has the original battery!! and still looks good! (Normal road type nicks and dings are starting to show up)
The bad, The drivers side seat bolster is pretty worn, One fuel pump had to be replaced (It cracked by the mounting flange on the tank and was leaking a little fuel, the car never stopped or ran bad though) GM replaced it under warrenty (no problem with dealer, only 1 day to fix it) It has gone thru 3 sets of spark plug wires (Keeps cooking the boots allowing it to missfire at idle etc)
The Ugly, Last october It hydroplaned in the rain and nosedived into the freeway center divider (K-Rails) at about 65 MPH , did about $13000 worth of damage to the Vette, but, It protected me very well. It was repaired perfectly and actually seems better than before (way less squeaks and rattles than before. )
The maintenance. Oil and filter get changed at about 20% life left on the DIC (Approx every 8000 miles). The coolant, Spark Plugs, and differential oil were changed at 50,000 miles (Just being cautious, it didnt really need to be!!) The stock Z-51 brakes and rotors lasted 70,000 miles, I replaced the pads with GM ceramics (For brake dust control reasons only) and new GM rotors. The Good Years were shot at 15,000 miles, So I Replaced them with Firestone wide ovals (couldn't ask for a better all around tire) currently getting about 35,000 miles per set.
The Mods. (I Just can't leave it all stock ya know) Body mods include a full length rear spoiler, chrome grill, polished side grill plates and bullets, tail light bling and custom fuel rail covers etc. The engine has a CAI (Vera Ram), Yella Terra shaft mount roller rockers (1.6), comp cams valve springs, titanium retainers and push rods, 160 'stat and a mild tune.
Just to be clear, this car gets driven hard, in the rain, in the snow, at the track every now and then (12.70 @ 116) Goes to car shows, car ralleys, and the supermarket !! Quite Frankly, This is the best, most reliable, enjoyable, fun car we have ever owned.
The only down side to driving a Vette every day, is that when you have to drive something else, it just seems, well.....so much less !!!!!
Keep the faith folks, until 90,000 miles!!!
Regards.

C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
Great report. I also have a 07 and my name is Roger. My car now has 76,500 miles so you are just a little ahead of me.
Like you the only problem I have had was a leaky fuel pump, also covered under warranty. I am still on original plugs and wires. Eng runs like a dream.
Except for the part about hydroplaning, you could have wrote that review for my car.:
Here is to many more miles of smiles in our 07's.

Sweet report! It is always good to hear about daily drivers holding up. Quick question, do you have a non-stock cam also? The parts you listed makes it sound like a cam was added.
