Dear Corvette owners, would you recommend I buy this Corvette I found here. 2007 Corvette c6 coupe, 123,514 miles, for $17,988.

I would try to get the price down as low as possible. The most important thing is to go to a Chevy dealer. Give him the vin # and ask him to run a report on it. It will show you what was done in the cars lifetime by a Chevrolet dealer. I would check the car out as a precaution. I would see if the harmonic balancer has any wobble. These are current problems and an expensive. If the car was maintained it may be worthwhile but if not then I would walk but that's just my opinion
Good luck

It's not too terrible price wise. If you go for it have an independent mechanic check it if you're not sure about it and check things out like Car Fax. At this mileage just keep in mind there will be some things that will need attention and keep some money off to the side for that.

It all depends on what you want to do with the car. It is a good deal if you want a weekend car around town. The savings from a low mileage car can do a lot of repairs. A 2007 with low miles would need a lot of TLC also so you get 5k give or take a few to fund your reserves. If you plan to drive a lot of miles it may not be a good choice.

C6 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019
Other than check the vin at a dealer, a carfax, and a close personal inspection, I don't see anything that causes me an issue. It's a 3LT w/ Z51, A6, and NAV. It appears bone stock too, which usually indicates an elderly one owner who drove it gently.
Just for reference, my 131K mile '08 has mods and I drag race. I'll be taking two cross country trips this year and I have no fear regarding any car problems. Then again, I'm only 74, so it's not like I'm old.

In addition to maintenance records, see if you can get a Carfax report. I would rather have a higher mileage 1 or 2 owner car than one that had 4 or 5 owners. See if there is a Corvette specialty shop in town - sometimes they will check the car over without charge. You can also ask if someone from the local Corvette club would be willing to go with you and take it for a drive. (If you're in El Paso let me know.) Get the car on a lift or over a pit so you can see if there are any leaks or damage. Sniff up under the rear wheel openings for gas fumes - if detected, this can indicate cracked fuel components. Take your time and make sure EVERYTHING works. I located the previous owner of my 08 - his address was on the navigation system and he was very helpful. Highest regards, Monte

I would keep looking for lower mileage offerings.C6 vettes are everywhere and you can tell that more than likely came out of an auction from a dealer I don't want it on my lot trade in. I cant imagine what kind of extended warranty they would offer most extended warranty companies wont cover high mileage cars and if they do it would be real limited for items covered. good luck

Priced too high.....
Even if everything checks out good, the price is too high. I know someone that just purchased a loaded 2007 in excellent condition for $20K with 65,000 miles and new non-run flats. Good luck with your search.

There is nothing wrong with older cars with more than 100k miles. I bought my '05 Vert almost two years ago with 135k miles. It runs just fine and I think it was a good deal at $18k.

Many buy vehicles with over 150K mileage.
You have age and miles as a negative on this purchase.
Get the service records to make your decision ...many Vette owners take very good care of their vehicles.
In this case it may check (PPI) well, yet water pump, balancer, suspension rubber, electronics could fail at any time. So, have extra cash available to revitalize the car.
Not sure if price is good or not.
Good luck in your decision.

My '05 is just shy of 144k miles and I plan on reaching 150k miles (or more) this year...I drove it off the dealers lot with 5 miles on the odometer...I have replaced the following non-regular maintenance parts:
1) water pump/t-stat x3 (48k; 101k and most recently at 140k)
2) harmonic balancer and pulley X1 (138k)
3) L and R drive axles (due to stupidity on my part)
4) column lock actuator x5 (only on '05 model year)
Still riding with the original rotors/brake pads and F55 shocks.
My miles come from highway driving up and down the East Coast and as far West as Kentucky (National Corvette Museum) and seven trips to the area around Toronto, Canada.
As others have said, CarFax and maintenance records are vital in making your decision.
Good luck and let us know what you decide.
Here's mine at around 120k miles:

With all the c6's out there,I wouldn't even think of spending that kind of money for a 124000 mile 9-10 year old Vette. To many with lower miles out here for not to much more money.

There is more to a car than just price and miles. What is the overall condition of the car? How many owners since new? Does the seller have maintenance records? as skeptical as I am regarding CarFax, did you obtain a report?
