rejex then wax question
Ok, today I washed my 11 GS with dawn, clay bared and applied rejex. I'm planning on putting another coat of rejex on in the morning and I wanted to throw a coat of wax on after. Do I have to wait another 12 hours, like I'm doing now between the coats of Rejex, before I put a coat of wax on?
Thanks,
Bob

From the RejeX website:
RejeX can be used over existing wax; however, the duration of protection will be reduced as the softer underlying wax degrades comparatively quickly. There is no reason to wax over RejeX. As we’ve already said, RejeX leaves a shinier, longer-lasting finish than wax… and the wax can't adhere well to RejeX!
I wouldn't bother waxing over it. JMHO.

If you are going to put wax on over Rejex, I would recommend using a wax that does not have any cleaning agents in it.. like a pure carnuba..other wise the wax will lessen the staying power of the rejex IMO. This is the advice I got from Autogeek here on the forum.

I have done this before. Yes, the 2nd coat of Rejex let cure another 12 hours. Just curious...why are you using a 2nd coat of Rejex?

One coat of Rejex is fine, you just may have to apply it more often than if you used Zaino.

You think one coat is sufficient? I understand it's not like Zaino where the more layers you apply the better the shine (or so I've read, I have 0 expereince with Zaino) but I thought 2 coats was the deal. Did you notice a huge improvement after you put a coat of wax on top of the Rejex? Or should I just be done with it after 1 coat?
In terms of improvement putting wax on top of rejex, it really depends on what kind of wax you use. I use Pinnacle Soverign, it;s expensive but pure carnuba, and it really deepens the black. Rejex leaves a great mirror like shine..I add the wax to add depth to the color. Plus pinnacle is made for black, yellow and red I believe.

One coat of Rejex by hand is good enough, you can top it with a wax if you want. As mentioned use a wax with no cleaners in it, you will get a bit more of a pop to the paint. You should be good for at least 6 months after applying the Rejex.

wax has less optical clarity than polymers. Dont take away from the gloss by applying it over Rejex. I wouldn't dream of applying over my zaino. just sayin......

Well, thanks alot for all the info fellas. I really appreciate it. I'm gonna leave it at 1 coat of Rejex and pick up some Pinnacle and put it on tomorrow.

My experience with Rejex
I applied one coat of Rejex in September, 2010 and drove in Chicago snow, rain, and salt several days each winter month.
In Spring, 2011, wash water beaded very thoroughly on all panels and the chrome wheels were not stained at all. Previously the wheels had been stained and spotted when I used only various Meguiar's canuaba and nano waxes.
~~~~~~
I apply Rejex with a microfiber covered sponge as sold by several vendors. As I finish applying it, I go to the point where I started applying it, and start the wipe off step. This is about 20 minutes after starting the application. It wipes off very easily with no need for a buffer.
That's all I do to prepare for Chicago winters.
I use Wolfgang Sealer and the next day I use Wolfgang Fuzion Wax for a better shine and more depth, I do a complete detail twice a year and monthly apply the Fuzion and between washes detail spray
