I have a manual gs and 80psi is not unusual. when i first start the car and the oil isn't real hot it will go to 70 or 80 as i shift gears. When it gets nice and warm it goes back to about 50.

Similar here. Ancient news from the '70's ... my PCV line was collapsing at higher speeds or during acceleration - looked normal sitting in the garage. Don't know what, if anything, is similar on current C6's, but the OP might mention it to the dealer.

On older GM automatic transmissions, the vacuum modulator valve would leak and suck automatic transmission fluid into the engine and out the exhaut creating bellows of white smoke.
Does your car have an automatic trans?

I think the vacuum modulator went away.

Yes!

If you told the dealer smoke was pouring out of it and they told you to drive the car to the dealership, I would find a new dealer to work on that thing!!

That remains to be seen.
Sounds more like [a] component failure to me, given the newness of the car.
Can't blame the builder for that.

I doubt that was the cause of his problem. An overfill would have made the car smoke like a freight train the first time he started it after the oil change.

Usually, as a rule of thumb, on gasoline engines, white smoke out the tailpipe means anti freeze/water/headgasket. Blue/black smoke means it's burning oil. And black smoke is usually a gas problem.

And you can usually smell the burning anti freeze. It has a distinct odor.

True - it was replaced by a COMPUTER.

I take it no "check engine light"? Probably not something in the emissions system then. I wonder if it has thrown a trouble code.

Same here. 80 PSI does NOT indicate a problem.

Wow!! Could it be a modulator valve leaking transmission fluid on the exhaust pipe?? I hope it's nothing too bad!!!

Well it doesn't sound like a head gasket since the oil/coolant are normal colored. Definitely not the vacuum modulator valve since he doesn't have an auto tranny. It could be the PCV system. Maybe an oil leak that is burning on the exhaust system. You should be able to find that pretty easily though. Is the smoke actually coming out of the exhaust or just out the back of the car? (Internal vs external problem)
