Atomic Orange - Paint match
Looking at an Atomic Orange vert....front bumper cover has some noticable scratches and needs a repaint...any idea on how well atomic orange paint matches or is extensive blending (hood, fenders) really needed.

It doesn't match up good at all. I had an 08 AO coupe. I loved the color until a road gator took out the front bumper. They matched it up perfectly in the sunlight but in low light it looked like a bra on the front of the car. Even the door/rear quarter panels seemed to be a different shade in low light after a few years and they were never repainted. There are a lot of different shades for atomic orange.

Any paint shop worth their salt can match. No big deal. The surrounding panels can be fogged if needed

FWIW the same dealer that did my Vette also replaced the rear bumper on my wife's Envoy before. It was Red Jewel Metallic. They had no problem matching it. It took them 3 attempts just to match up the AO so it'll look good in the sun.

I usually have the front facia, front fenders and lower portion of the hood repainted yearly. I have used the local Chevrolet dealers paint shop and they have always done a great job. I do have all of the items that are going to be painted removed from the car and then reinstalled after I inspect the painted items.

I somewhat disagree with above posts..... It is a big deal.
A butt match (where the other panels do not need to be fogged) can be very difficult with this color and take hours of time to achieve.
Phil above outlines one of the issues...night lighting vs sunlight.
Yes, I do agree, a top body shop painter can fog and blend ....They do this all day long.
FWIW watch the paint mil thickness and for flex additive.
I'd get a bra or clear wrap over re-paint option. Or even better; hold out for a black colored Vette!!

the problem is most paint shops aint worth a DAMN.
Good luck but they'll probably have to "blend".
