Default 1st Vette

Hi all,

I'm thinking of coming to the "Dark Side" and getting rid of my 2010 Camaro 1LT/RS and upgrading to a Vette.

I love the Grand Sports and have test driven quite afew. I have a chance to purchase a brand new 2011 Coupe GS 1LT which I must say is a beautiful car. Since my Camaro doesn't have a HUD I prob won't miss it much in the GS.

The price after all my rebates/incentives is about $48,000. Car has about 72 miles on it. I put about 15 of those on.

This seems like a good price. You guys have any advice?

Thanks. AFter spending years at Camaro5.com it seems I finally have reached this Corvette Forum.

Great price for a great car, you won't regret it.

And you are not coming to the "Dark Side", you are just crossing the border of an ally.

What is the sticker price? Is $48K out the door or plus taxes? Remember, it's a 2011. Just bought a 2012 GS 3LT brand new with NPP, chromes & NAV, listed at $70K, paid $60.5K plus taxes.
Good luck & I also had a 2010 RS SS Camaro, nothing would compare these 2 cars.

Sticker is $52,253 minus $4000 in incentives, so getting it for $48,253 and with taxes OTD price is looking to be $52,838.87

A 2011 they need to get rid of? I'd play hardball a little more and tell them to take the hit on the one year depreciation, not you. Offer 45K and see what happens. If you walk away, believe me they'll call back. What color is it?

Camaro is a great car too. But if you can swing a good deal on the Vette, get it and you will never look back.

Nice cars! My Camaro is Rally Yellow with Black stripes....bumble bee so to speak. Loved that color scheme on the Camaro....harder for me to find a Yellow GS.

...but the silver is very nice along with the silver wheels. I think I can live with it.

It sounds like the dealer isn't really discounting it too much. The incentive is what is lowering the price -- not the dealer. I'd agree with offering $45k. If they dicker you up, add in extras along the way.

When I bought my GS the dealer and I were $400 apart at the end. Obviously I wasn't going to walk for $400 but the sales guy didn't know that. I told him to throw in a full width spoiler and then I stuck my hand out for a shake and guess what, he shook it

Sometimes the accessories get the deal made. Good luck.

Is that 45K net, ie, after all incentives and deductions? You guys are a great source of info and advice.

Yeah. I'd be firm about it and see what they do.

Maybe you can weasel a spoiler, car cover, or nicer floor mats out of it too.

45K plus tax, title. Stick to your 45K offer, play hard ball. They need to get rid of that 2011 GS much more than you need it. Tell them "here's the deal, there's other dealers as well as eBay and the classified adds where I can look for a Grand Sport I like." If you walk away, they'll come after you. If you drive away they'll call you. They know you want the car and aren't gonna go for their 4K incentive reduction only. They need to take the depreciation for the 2011 GS, not you.
